THE LOSS OF CATHOLIC WEAPONS AGAINST EVIL HAVE ALLOWED ISLAM TO SPREAD ONCE AGAIN
Since 1571 Europe and much of the world have forgotten their history, the Rosary, and indeed the faith. Radical and adversarial Islam is once again marching with hostile forces that are multiplying demographically across Europe in lightning speed, while a sterile and abortion-obsessed Europe commits suicide as it bows helplessly before its indefatigable assailants. Crippled before its arch enemy, post-Christian Europe can only limp along before these monolithic forces of evil because of Europe's own perilous weakness of no longer being unified in its faith, beliefs and culture.
There are different types of evil that plague the world- the worst being moral or spiritual evil. It includes all those who reject God as He truly reveals HIMSELF--through his son Jesus Christ. Since the followers of Islam reject Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation the religion of Islam poses a grave spiritual evil to not only its followers but to the world.
But evil is always in the last analysis a privation of good. For example, night is a privation of the light of day, while vice is a privation of God's goodness. Moreover, evil is not a force unto itself but a condition of a thing. Thus Islam, like Protestantism and all the false religions of the world are a deprivation of the goodness and prayerful treasures and richness of the Catholic faith in prayer life: namely, the Mass, the Sacraments, the Eucharist, and the Rosary and all the intercessory prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thus a divided and splintered Europe is anemic in terms of its efficacy and results against the spread of evil. It is no wonder that with the abandonment of so many treasures of the Catholic faith that we now find ourselves not only defenseless against Islam-- but also ready to capitulate lest we be branded "BIGOTS".
In addition to the loss of the Rosary the greatest loss that the West suffers from is the loss of the Sacrifice of the Mass. The Mass is a sacrificial prayer which Jesus Himself commanded us to do in memory of Him. The Sacrifice of the Mass is the same Sacrifice as that which Our Savior offered on the Cross, differing only in the manner of offering. "The same Sacrifice!" Not many in our day can fully grasp the importance of this concept. In every Holy Catholic Mass we have the same Priest and the same Victim as in the Sacrifice of Calvary.
On the Cross, Jesus Christ offered himself by shedding His Blood and meriting it for us. On our altars He sacrifices Himself through the ministry of the priest without shedding His Blood, and applies to us the fruits of His Passion and Death. The Sacrifice of the Mass does not increase the merits of the Sacrifice of the cross; it merely applies them to our souls.
Can we afford the loss of such weapons from heaven while evil runs rampant and our enemies are again at our gates?
**This feast was first celebrated liturgically as "Our Lady of Victory" but was renamed in 1716.
