We are all witnessing the growing persecution of the Church in what were once Christian nations. These nations are slowly taking on a fascist character that seeks to stamp out religion and religious expression. In Canada a so-called human rights commission is in hot pursuit of truth teller Mark Steyn for Islamophobia and Catholic Insight Magazine for homophobia. In Spain a Protestant is being investigated by the government for attempting to "cure" homosexuality while a Catholic cleric is likewise being investigated for comments that are seen as offending homosexuals.
The pace at which religious hatred is growing is alarming. But this was all prophesied by good and holy men and women throughout the centuries. They all hauntingly repeat that a great chastisement will occur due to the loss of the Faith. The Catholic Church in particular will have much to suffer. Islam is predicted to be used as one instrument of chastisement. But the enemies of Christ Read More...

Michael Voris is on fire with the faith and is making waves in Detroit and all around the nation. He is a graduate of Notre Dame and a former news anchor with CBS. He gave up his career in television to spread the One True Faith far and wide.
I am personally tired of hearing so many protestants claim that they have a personal relationship with Jesus while denying his words in the Gospel of John chapter 6. There is nothing closer or more personal than eating the flesh of the Son of God who fills us with His life so that we can live with Him eternally.
We need more modern day missionaries like Michael Voris and friends to re-convert Western Civilization and bring it back to Jesus Christ in the most personal way known to man.

I believe it is gravely important that we be aware of what has been foretold. So much of what we hear about Islam and its spread into Europe is political in nature. I am certain that a great many of you view this movement of Islam into Europe as more than simply a historical or a political event. But rather, recognize the spiritual significance of this occurrence in salvation history. This indeed is a new day for a Nation that calls itself free. A good movie is a rare thing in our day. But I can recommend Bella as a quality Catholic film through and through. It is a rare thing today when the main character is truly a hero, does not challenge your notions of right and wrong, and yet remains interesting. The main character does not compromise his beliefs in the least bit. He is an inspiring and exemplary man in every respect. The story itself reveals how men can counter the culture of death and the lies of feminism by being truthful, honest and self-sacrificing gentlemen.
This movie also renewed my gratefulness for the infusion of Catholicism into our culture from immigrants from Mexico and Latin America. So many in America condemn their growing presence but they bring with them a deep unadulterated faith. This movie is a product of that faith. There are so few modern movies that we can enjoy today--go and enjoy this one before it disappears from the theaters.
Why has the celebration of the birth of Christ been adulterated to such an extent that we act as if we are deserving of so much more materially than He had on His day of birth?
Christ "so loved poverty that He chose for His mother not a rich and powerful queen, but a poor and humble Virgin. He willed to be born, not in a palace, but in a bleak stable, the manger of which, covered with a little straw, was His only couch." The Sinner's Guide, Venerable Louis of Granada.

A recent article focusing on the return to tradition in all religions appeared in U.S. News and World Report. It seems that it is not just Catholicism that is returning to tradition-- every major religion is undergoing "a return to tradition and orthodoxy, to past practices, observances, and customary ways of worshiping".
One could have guessed that this would eventually take place since the last 50 years have seen Christianity stripped of all mystery tradition and even orthodoxy. From Catholicism, to the store front inner city Baptist church, to the mega churches that resemble stadiums, we see a "Starbucks effect" where Christianity has became homogenized. The focus has been on feelings and emotions of congregants rather than the sacrifice of Jesus.
But the generation that ushered in the fad of barren and individualistic Christianity is aging and its rebellion against tradition seems like nothing more than an ugly trend to the younger generations. This elderly generation however will not concede loss quietly...

An interesting article by Spengler of the Asia Times seems to answer the WHY of Belloc's statement. He points out that the god of Islam is "all transcendent". He is not subject to the natural law or even his own laws. Everything is random and subject to the whimsy of allah in the mind of a muslim. He controls every minute aspect of the world in accord with nothing other than his own ever-changing and unpredictable will. While the world grapples with the depths of sin and darkness, God is pouring His grace upon the earth to restore and transform His Church. It is the only thing that is capable of transforming the world from a death seeking suicidal culture to one that reveres light, life and truth. The last 50 years have seen the Bride of Christ beaten down by scandals, divisions, and disobedience-- leaving her often-times beyond recognition. But the tide has turned. The truth in all its splendor is irresistable in dark days. And the truth contained in the Latin Mass will be a beacon in the world where nothing remains sacred and everything is empty and mundane.
ZENIT recently conducted an interview with David Hartline, author of "The Tide is Turning Toward Catholicism".

THE ACCEPTANCE AND NORMALIZATION OF HOMOSEXUALITY WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF HOMOSEXUALS
The increasing acceptance of homosexuality is not only indicative of our moral decline but it also has the potential to "convert" many to full or part time homosexuality. Our children are now exposed to a vast amount of pro-homosexual indoctrination by the sex-obsessed media, by public schools and by peers. All of this exposure is capable of spreading the sin of sodomy like wildfire throughout our culture. This is clearly substantiated by recent census related statistics:
In the state of Utah alone: "According to U.S. Census figures, only 401 gay and lesbian couples declared themselves in 1990. In 2000, that number jumped dramatically to 3,370. The latest findings...reveal 6,503 out gay couples, an increase of over 1,600 percent since 1990.
"Overall, the study showed an increase of 437 percent nation-wide from 1990 to 2006."
"Census Bureau figures showing continuing increases in the number of same-sex couples track with other surveys showing that more Americans than ever before are identifying as lesbian, gay and bisexual." from Qsaltlake
Acceptance of homosexuality clearly emboldens those who are on the fence or simply curious to take the plunge into the abyss.
If the statistics aren't convincing how about biblical proof that homosexuality has the potential of spreading among the populace? Recall the story of the destruction of Sodom. Before God destroyed the city, Abraham approached God and pleaded with Him not to destroy the good with the wicked. God relented and stated that He would not destroy Sodom if 50 good men could be found. But Abraham, knowing that this might be an impossible task, convinced God to reduce the number of men to a mere 10.
As the story goes- 10 good men could not be found in Sodom. However, before God destroyed the city He sent His angels to assess the level of depravity. As Lot fed God's angels his home was surrounded by Sodomites:

The town of Wittenberg Germany where Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church has undergone enormous changes including what some may call the curse of atheism. From chicagotribune:
"The wooden doors of Castle Church were long ago replaced by ones made of bronze, but what comes as a far greater disappointment to Protestant pilgrims, especially those from America, is that only about 15 percent of Wittenberg's inhabitants identify themselves as Christian.
"Most of the others proudly celebrate their atheism.
"We knew that Christianity had taken a hit during communist times, but to come here, to the land of Luther, and to find so many people outside the church, yes, it was a surprise," admitted Stephen Godsall-Myers, a Lutheran pastor from Pennsylvania.
"The situation is even starker when the pilgrims make their way to the town of Eisleben, Luther's birthplace. There, only 8 percent of the population calls itself Christian.
"What theologians and academics describe as the de-Christianization of Europe began more than a century ago, but in eastern Germany the process was greatly accelerated under the communist rule of the former German Democratic Republic."
Yes, Germany suffered through the devastation of communism--but this cannot account for the domination and speed with which atheism has spread in the historical heart of the Reformation and throughout the entire continent. ITALY TO GIVE TAX CREDITS TO 20 & 30 YEAR-OLDS TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO LEAVE PARENT'S HOME & RAISE BIRTH RATES
Italy--the land with one of the most graying populations in the world--is attempting to kick its 30-somethings out of their parent's homes in order to boost the birth rate. With nearly two-thirds of 30-34 year olds still living at home it seems the country could use a modern day St Francis to rescue it from apostasy and contraceptive driven suicidal sex.
"We want the bamboccioni to move out," Finance Minister Tommaso Padoa Schioppa recently said, using a term that evokes grown babies still attached to mamma's apron strings."
"Now Italy's center-left government is proposing a ¤999 ($1,431) yearly tax credit on rents for people ages 20 to 30, hoping that will encourage young adults to start living on their own and start a family. But experts say the measure, though encouraging, is not enough to undo cultural and economic factors keeping young men and women at home."
"The problem," says Alessandro Rosina, who teaches demography at Catholic University in Milan, "is not just that Italy's birthrate of 1.3 is one of the lowest in Europe, but that is has been stable at that level for too long."
"Young Italians have found a new formula for la dolce vita," writes journalist Beppe Severgnini on his popular blog, "Italians.""
Why would the average Italian 30 year-old leave the nest for a life of sacrifice and committment to one person? It certainly will not happen due to tax credits. Going from momma's apron strings to the government's does not transform boys into men and girls into women. Rather it is only through a return to the Faith and ultimately God's grace that will make man who has been accustomed to living for self, and self alone, awaken to the dire demographic predicament that a once Catholic nation now finds itself in. Nothing on earth --including secularism and socialism -- can match the tranformative powers that Christianity has on men and even nations. Thus only a return to the Faith will prompt the young Italians to take on the role of men and women and fathers and mothers.

Here is a very interesting article from the Times Online about Pope Benedict and his ambitious commitment to reform and liberation of the Latin liturgy. This, despite attempts from many bishops including those in England and Wales to halt the reform. It seems his pontificate is having a tremendous impact on many break-away groups including the conservative Traditional Anglican Communion.
"Two and a half years after the name "Josephum" came booming down from the balcony of St Peter's, making liberal Catholics weep with rage, Pope Benedict XVI is revealing his programme of reform. And it is breathtakingly ambitious.
The 80-year-old Pontiff is planning a purification of the Roman liturgy in which decades of trendy innovations will be swept away. This recovery of the sacred is intended to draw Catholics closer to the Orthodox and ultimately to heal the 1,000 year Great Schism. So much of our complacency and apathy toward sin today stems from voluntarily drinking in the poison that flows from the secular liberal media.

POPE BENEDICT --THE MOST INDISPENSIBLE MAN OF OUR TIMES & THE CHURCH-- THE MOST INDISPENSIBLE INSTITUTION OF OUR TIMES
A book entitled, Twentieth-Century Catholic Theologians by Fergus Kerr is receiving quite a bit of attention. It was recently reviewed by Spengler of the Asia Times and was also previously reviewed at First Things in May. What I find most interesting is not the book itself but how growing numbers of those who are not Catholic-but who understand the grave threat that radical Islam poses to the West --have begun to look to the Church for answers--and are indeed finding that truth does indeed rest with her.
It seems the growth and spread of Islam and its quest for domination could potentially bring about just the opposite --a resurgence of Catholicism in the West. It would not be the first time that God has used the enemies of His people to chastise them and call them home. Anyway--Here is Spengler's view of the book but more importantly his view of the indispensible nature of Pope Benedict and the Catholic Church to the war on radical Islam:
"To win a gunfight, first you have to bring a gun, and to win a religious war, you had better know something about religion...If we are in a fourth world war, Read More...

In man's search for religion and truth one would be wise to look for the religion that is a sign of contradiction in this world. (Luke 2:34) The Catholic Church today stands as the only religion that is a sign of contradiction since it is the only voice that consistently condemns all the world's favorite sins and takes the unpopular positions on the hot moral issues of the day. The vitriol that the enemies of Catholicism display is one of the greatest indicators that the Church is effective in its God given mission.
Yet one by one protestant churches have acquiesced to the world's ways. One of the most obviously destructive issues that protestants have conceded on is the acceptance of casual divorce and adulterous remarriage. On this matter, protestant denominations have ceased to follow Jesus' express words about adulterous remarriage...
"Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if the wife shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery." Mark 10:11-12
How can so many Protestant Churches miss the sinfulness of adulterous remarriage? How can so many churches overlook the clear teaching of Jesus--and permit those who are living in adultery to also act as ministers and leaders of churches? These same churches are also ready and willing to welcome fallen away Catholics who are living in adultery into their churches--with the deception that they are saved--despite their ongoing mortal sin. It is truly a spiritual blindness that has overtaken those who call themselves followers of Christ.
This blindness is the inevitable outcome of the protestant divorce from the the Bride of Christ--the Catholic Church. This divorce cut protestants off from the life of Christ because they have simultaneously rejected the Eucharist--which is Jesus.
"I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." John 6:53
As Fr. John Hardon S.J. used to say: "protestantism is a graceless old testament Christianity". Without grace and the living life of Christ one fails to be a contradiction to the world but instead becomes one with it.

We must reveal the truth about the Christian life-- that it is a radical battle against self and the dominant culture in which martyrdom may be a real possibility. While we may not be asked to shed our blood, our witness Read More...

The liberal media gushed at the so called "unprecedented letter of peace" from Islam to Christians. But to those who actually read it and understand the critical differences between Islam and Christianity-- the letter was at best a sham and more likely a threat to Christians. The letter began with the following damming preface which defined the terms of negotiation at the outset:
"In the Holy Qur’an, God Most High enjoins Muslims to issue the following call to Christians (and Jews—the People of the Scripture):
Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to a common word between us and you: that we shall worship none but God, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him). (Aal ‘Imran 3:64)"
Rather than an offer of peace it amounts to a threat--the only way peace can be obtained is to bow down and worship Allah. All negotiations naturally cease when Christ's divinity is denied, and

From Israeltoday: "In an interview with a local Arabic-language newspaper, Sheikh Kamal Khatib, deputy head of northern Israel's Islamic Movement, insisted that the world is "on the threshold of a new era. The future belongs to Islam and the Muslims."
Khatib said that in preparation for the coming Islamic takeover, Muslims who hold Israeli citizenship like himself should begin to actively rebel against the state by refusing to cooperate with and forming alternatives to the Israeli authorities.
Also at the weekend, Khatib's boss, Sheikh Raed Salah denounced current peace negotiations leading to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict as an "evil Israeli scheme." Salah, who is also an Israeli citizen, has long maintained that that Muslim world must not recognize Israel's right to exist."

St Benedict, Rule No 4
"No religion is from God which contradicts our sense of right and wrong"
NAPLES, Italy, OCT. 21, 2007 (Compiled from various news sources): Pope Benedict XVI urged the world's religious leaders not to allow God's name to be used to justify violence.
"Faced with a world lacerated by conflicts," the Holy Father said, "where at times violence is justified in the name of God, it is important to re-emphasize that religion can never be a vehicle of hate; never, in the

The rise of militant atheism actually portends well for the Church. I am hopeful that as a civilization we have finally climbed out of the depths of our lukewarm apathy toward God and have entered a new era where man has become either HOT or COLD for Jesus. It may not bode well in the short term for believers in the wordly sense because the result is persecution. But the battle has begun and this fire will test the sincerity of our faith and ultimately prove the truth of Christianity to Christ's enemies. After all--"it is hard for [atheists] to kick against the goad". Acts 26:14
When an unbeliever becomes angry in discussing the faith it may mean that they are actually closer to conversion than if they display "toleration" and a distant and withdrawn "respect". Toleration reveals one's apathy while intolerance the opposite. Witness how very tolerant so many atheists are of Buddhism, Hinduism or even Islam while they condemn Christianity. In this intolerance lies something very meaningful and mysterious--that at

SACRAMENTO, Oct. 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed into law two bills requiring all public school instruction and activities to positively portray transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality to children as young as kindergarten. He has also signed bills undermining marriage and infringing upon the moral conscience of business owners, churches, and nonprofit organizations.
Late Friday, Schwarzenegger signed SB 777 (transsexual, bisexual, homosexual indoctrination of schoolchildren by requiring changes to all instruction and activities) and AB 394 (transsexual, bisexual, homosexual indoctrination of students, parents, and teachers via "anti-harassment" training). Signing the bills was a switch for Schwarzenegger, who vetoed nearly the same bills last year, in the midst of his reelection campaign.

Compiled from Jurist and Guardian Unlimited: A new law criminalizing the incitement of religious hatred came into effect. The Racial and Religious Hatred Act makes intentionally stirring up hatred against people on religious grounds punishable by a jail sentence of up to seven years.
The act is...seen as an important counter-balance to anti-terror laws which have been viewed as disproportionately targeting Britain's Muslim population.
Critics have argued that the law will undermine the freedom of satirists, comedians and writers, and stifle legitimate discussion about religion and religious practices.
Here we go with more secular legislation aimed at instilling morality in the people. There is no surprise that this state imposed secular morality is arbitrary and capricious. Who will determine what amounts to incitement of religious hate? And what will be the standards? Will a condemnation of the teachings of Mohammed land you in jail? Truth and debate will be stifled in the name of political correctness at a time when Europe needs open and honest talk about Islam and the danger it poses to the continent.
Perpetually splintered Christianity--brought about by the Reformation--has permitted the enemies of Christianity a profound advantage. When a man who calls himself a Christian can arbitrarily interpret scripture to his liking and scoff at the notion of authority, he is unable to condemn those who do the same outside of scripture. We are a house divided rather than a force to be reckoned with.

The Court of Human Rights today confirmed Poland will have to pay compensation to a woman whose vision became impaired after being denied an abortion under Polish laws.

The birthrate in Germany fell again in 2006 to an average of 1.33 children, giving the country one of Europe's lowest birthrates, the national statistics' office said on Monday.
FROM EARTHTIMES: "Germany's birth rate is sinking despite many years of tax breaks for parents and plans to expand kindergartens to help working parents, statistics released Monday show. Here is something to reflect upon as we enter the week of September 11.
These "nice" German young men were most likely raised in a secular environment where hedonism, free sex, and materialism was the norm. They probably never encountered true Christianity that demands a counter-cultural sacrifice, rejects worldliness and stresses eternal consequences for one's actions --because there were no Christians to tell them the truth.
After imbibing all the world had to offer they were left feeling empty and began to search. They were thirsting for truth and something to live and die for. But instead of finding the living truth Truth in Jesus Christ and His Church, they followed a lie that demanded a commitment from them while seemingly providing them with a purpose--jihad!
Now because the West has apostatized and acquiesced on every front, we must watch as conversions to Islam grow among Europeans. These conversions are the product of institutionalized nihilism, hedonism, and secularism and are beginning to resemble a chastisement.
Below are estimated figures for the number of converts to Islam in larger European countries alongside total numbers for their Muslim populations. From Rueters:
The number of Muslims in Germany is estimated at 3.3 million. Around 4,000 Germans converted to Islam last year, according to German media reports quoting figures from the Central Institute Islam Archive. In 2005 there were around 1,000 German converts to Islam.

Parents are under a grave obligation to provide for the religious and moral education of their children. (Code of Canon Law of 1917, Canon 1113) We will be judged as parents by how we rear our children. Because of this clear teaching, we can no longer deny that the environment of most public schools with their aggressive sex “education” programs, pro-homosexual social clubs, and the muzzling of all mention of God, is indeed deadly to the souls of our youth. Yet we have swallowed the entire concept of State-dominated indoctrination of our children-- hook, line and sinker. What effect does an education which is silent about our Creator, and the purpose of our existence have on a child's character? Ignorance of such matters can only breed proud fools.

The U.K. has introduced government sponsored and supported "civics-religion" lessons which teach Western values from the Koran. The Labor government hopes this pilot program in Bradford will eventually spread to other cities, and help "assimilate" and "integrate" the country’s Muslims into British culture. Unfortunately, Larijani's criticism is not entirely without merit. Due to the mass apostasy from the Christian Faith in the West, the Vatican and more importantly the Church, has become no more than an old discarded decoration and a vestige of the past. Only when our Faith becomes more than mere decoration, will our eyes be opened to the devastation that Islam poses to our civilization.

The second reason I believe is the persistence of the multicultural myth that all peoples, religions, and civilizations are morally equivalent...The unhappy truth is that the jihadists are, to a great extent, acting Read More...
The recent advice from a dissident cleric in the Netherlands who suggested that peace between Islam and Christianity could be obtained by calling our Lord and Savior "Allah", is not only futile but wicked. While this cleric seeks to compromise the Word of God to appease the violent and heretical, God's people are perishing for lack of knowledge of the power and value of Jesus' name. God does indeed care what we call Him
St Paul tells us that "Jesus" is "a name above all names".
And that "in the name of Jesus, every knee shall bend in Heaven, on earth and in Hell" (Phil.2:10).
Further "there is salvation in the Name of Jesus and...there is no salvation in any other name except that Name." (Acts 4:12.)
But why is Jesus name so powerful?
Because He is God made man. The incarnation is a mind-boggling concept that is unique to Christianity. That the Creator of Heaven and Earth would actually humble Himself to not only become one of us, but willingly sacrifice Himself to appease the Father for our transgressions is beyond comprehension without Read More...

The Bishops lodged an appeal to the High Court after the Broadcasting Standards Authority rejected their complaint against the so-called "Bloody Mary" episode which aired last year, claiming it breached standards of good taste and decency.
The High Court dismissed the appeal, saying the bishops' sense of outrage is not shared by the wider community. To add insult to injury the court ordered the Catholic Bishops to pay the Defendant broadcaster's costs amounting to $8,000.
Yet outrage apparently exists at a Pace University student, Stanislav Shmulevich who flushed the Koran in a University toilet after admittedly having a disagreement with some Muslim students. Shmulevich was arrested and charged with two felony counts of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree as a Hate Crime.

Monsignor Georg Gaenswein speaks with the full authority of the Catholic Church about a Muslim domination of Europe.
He made it clear that Europe's Christian roots are under threat from a resurgent Islam.
“Attempts to Islamise the West should not be brushed off ...And the danger for the identity of Europe, which is linked to that, should not be ignored out of wrong-headed respect.”
He also spoke of Islam not being a single force but a religion of extremes, with extremists who "turn to rifles for their goals".
His comments come just a year after the newly appointed Pope enraged Muslims worldwide with a speech linking Islam with violence.
It led to churches being burned in the West Bank, a nun being shot dead in a Somalian hospital and the Iranian president accusing him of being in league with the US president, George Bush, to "repeat the Crusades" of old.
But Mgr Gaenswein has defended Pope Benedict's speech, saying it was an attempt by the Pontiff to "act against a certain naivety".

POPE'S "CONTROVERSIAL" STATEMENT ON PROTESTANTISM REVEALS THE NECESSITY OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Who so eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him." John 6: 53-58
I have encountered more than a few Protestants in my life who erroneously believed that they receive the actual Body and Blood of Jesus at their communion service. They were genuinely surprised to find that their church rejected the belief in the true presence of Jesus and believed instead that He was only present "spiritually". In most cases this confusion involved a fallen away Catholic. Given the clear words of scripture, without question, many have been decieved with half-truths and/or the topic has been purposefully avoided in churches that feed on fallen away Catholics. The recent issuance of a Vatican document affirming the centrality of the Catholic Church clarifies, with precision, this confusion, and dilineates those who do, and do not possess Jesus in the Read More...

I hardly find my thoughts on Jesus to be profound but here goes nevertheless--five things I love about Jesus:
1. I love Jesus because He blessed me with the most wonderful, holy, and saintly parents whose main goal for their children has always been to see them obtain heaven. I was further blessed by God with a wonderful husband who reveres truth and sacrifices his utmost for his family.
2. I love Jesus because His death gave me an opportunity to join Him for eternity in heaven and because He continues to offer Himself for me at every Mass. I love Him because He has given my children the richness and beauty of the Tridentine Mass which I was so sorely missing in my youth.

“[T]he jihadists constantly portray themselves as the true voice of Islam, and the moderates have never mounted an adequate comeback". “There is no true Islam, there is no pope of Islam, but the eight classical schools of Islam all teach warfare against unbelievers. We deceive ourselves if we think [violence] is just something that’s manufactured by the Wahhabis and not present in Islam in general. They teach it but they certainly didn’t invent it.”
As to the growth and spread of Islam in Europe he states:
“There will be civil war in Europe...The European citizenry, for the most part, are not ready to accept Islamic law and there will be armed conflicts. Across Europe there seems to be one opinion among the elite and one among the people; the mainstream political parties are going to have to start representing this, otherwise they’re going to be shunted aside by the neo-fascists.”
“Fascism lasted 25 years, Communism for 75; Islam is 1,400 years old, the imperative to make war against unbelievers is 1,400 years old and they believe they are fighting a 1,400-year-old struggle. And jihad will destroy us if we don’t do anything about it.”
“Above all, we shouldn’t fight among ourselves, but against global jihad. If we’re consumed with each other then we don’t stand a chance."
Yes--Christianity must once again speak with one voice against those that seek to destroy civilization. Unlike Islam, there exists in this world "true Christianity". Also unlike Islam, Christianity does have a pope given to us by Christ Himself--which permits the Church to speak with truth and authority. "John Reaney...took the Hereford Diocesan Board of Finance to an employment tribunal after his appointment to the role of youth worker was blocked by the Bishop of Hereford, the Rt Rev Anthony Priddis. "During his evidence, Bishop Priddis said he had made clear to Mr Reaney that a person in a committed sexual relationship outside of marriage, whether they were heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or transgender, would be turned down for the role, which he said was a key appointment within the diocese."
This has been a bad week for Britain and an even worse week for Christianity. A teenager has lost the right to wear a symbol of her Christian faith to school, while a Church has to pay a sodomite damages when it denied him an appointment working with youth. The radical homosexual agenda must muzzle all religion that reminds them of their sin. This will surely be the source of much persecution of the Church in the future. Surely the legalization of homosexual marriage would bring about similar claims against churches that refuse to marry them. Muzzling the church, however, will not muzzle the consciences of those that live a self-loathing, self-destructive homosexual lifestyle.
The 2nd U.S. District Court of Appeals has ruled that spouses of those who have undergone forced abortion and/or sterlization under one-child policies cannot seek asylum.
The court said the immigration reform act of 1996 explicitly protects those who are forced to "abort a pregnancy or to undergo involuntary sterilization, or who has been persecuted for failure or refusal to undergo such a procedure or for other resistance to a coercive population control program." But the Court narrowed the coverage to only those who have been the direct victim of such coercion and excluded the spouse.

BRITISH TEENAGER LOSES BATTLE TO WEAR "PURITY RING" --COURT DEFINES "PROPER" EXPRESSIONS OF CHRISTIANITY
A British teen, Lydia Playfoot, has lost her claim in High Court to wear a "purity ring" to school.
Her lawyer had argued that the school, which allows Muslim and Sikh students to wear headscarves and religious bracelets, was violating Lydia's right to "freedom of thought, conscience and religion" under Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
The court ruled that that the ring was not an integral part of the Christian faith and upheld the school's right to enforce its uniform policy.
Essentially, the pro-Islamic, anti-Christian British government is now defining the permissible expressions of the Christian faith. This denies Christians the right to freely express their faith. This is a blow to Christianity in Britain and brings the Nation a step closer to the formal establishment of Eurabia.
Miss Playfoot stated: "I am very disappointed by the decision this morning by the High Court not to allow me to wear my purity ring to school as an expression of my Christian faith not to have sex outside of marriage."
She said she believed the ruling "will mean that slowly, over time, people such as school governors, employers, political organisations and others will be allowed to stop Christians from publicly expressing and practising their faith".

GERMAN CARDINAL CONDEMNS UNCRITICAL TOLERANCE TOWARD ALL RELIGION--CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM ARE NOT EQUALS
German Cardinal Karl Lehmann, head of the German conference of bishops, recently expressed concern about all faiths being treated equally regardless of the size of their flock and their history.
"The neutrality of the state regarding individual religions must not be confused with indifference and uncritical tolerance toward the impact of religions on society".
There are those that agreed with Cardinal Lehmann's arguments:
"Ronald Pofalla, the general secretary of Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative Christian Democratic Union party, said Lehmann was right to say Islam could not be afforded the same legal standing in Germany as Christianity.
"Unlike Christianity, Islam is not in Europe's cultural centre and is not reflected in everyday life in the same way," Pofalla said in a statement.
The irony of this seemingly benevolent uncritical tolerance toward religion is that it is ultimately destructive to Christianity. It relegates Christianity to the same status as the heretical newcomer Read More...

From Reuters: A call for descendents of Muslims expelled from Spain in the seventeenth century to be given preferential terms for Spanish citizenship has highlighted the country's uneasy relationship with its Islamic heritage.
The proposal was made at a meeting this week in Cordoba, a city in Andalusia which was the centre of Islamic civilization in the Iberian peninsula during nearly eight centuries of Moorish rule of much of what is now Spain and Portugal.
In 1609, Spain's King Philip III ordered all Muslims to leave his kingdom, leading to the expulsion of about 300,000 people. Their descendents today mainly live in North Africa and still regard themselves as "Andalusians", after the old name for Muslim Spain -- "Al Andalus"
Giving them preferential terms for Spanish citizenship would be an act of symbolic reconciliation, said Mansur Escudero, head of Spain's Islamic Board, the biggest group representing Spanish Muslims.

So often we hear that the sex abuse claims in the Catholic Church were brought about by the requirement of celibacy. But what of the sex abuse claims within protestanism where there is no requirement of celibacy? And what of the sex abuse claims in the secular world? Below are sex abuse statistics for three of the nations largest insurers of protestant churches:
Church Mutual Insurance Co. insures a total of 95,000 churches and worship centers and 1,000 religious groups. Church Mutual has received an average of about 100 reports a year alleging child sex abuse, and an average of about 100 reports a year alleging other sexual misconduct over the past decade.
GuideOne Insurance Co. insures a total of 43,495 churches-worship centers, and 1,505 religious groups. GuideOne has received an average of about 160 reports of child sex abuse a year, and 40 reports of sexual misconduct each year for the past two decades. The total amount in claims paid over the last five years has averaged approximately $4 million per year excluding attorney fees.
Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Co. insures 27,000 churches-worship centers and 3,000 religious groups. Brotherhood has received an average of 73 reports of BOTH child sex abuse and other sexual misconduct each year for the past 15 years. A total of approximately $7.8 million has been paid out in claims for sexual misconduct and child sex abuse over the past 15 years.

On Wednesday Jerusalem authorities issued a permit for a gay pride parade sponsored by the homosexual-lesbian Open House organization. The parade is to take place in the heart of Jerusalem on Thursday, and is expected to go forward with 7,000 police officers assigned to keep order. Both the organizers and the police fear violence during the march, after an Orthodox man stabbed and wounded three marchers during the 2005 parade.
A poll conducted last week by Geocartography Knowledge Group found that 64 percent of Jewish Israelis oppose holding the Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem. The 64% either voiced complete opposition to the parade or agreed with the following statement:
"Even if authorities permit the homo-lesbian pride parade in Tel Aviv or in other cities, it should be banned in Jerusalem due to the sanctity of the city in the eyes of many in Israel and in the world, and because of the sensitivity of more than half of Jerusalem's population who are religious."
Jerusalem Open House Director Noa Satat said the survey reflected a marked rise in support for the parade, which would go ahead on Thursday as planned.
"The Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem is not a provocation and not a party," Satat said. Holding it in Jerusalem, with its heavily religious population, "expresses a [special] message of both pride and tolerance.
Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, the honorary president of a revived version of the Sanhedrin, issued a press release calling on Jews to protest the parade. He stated: "The previous parade brought upon us the Second Lebanon War, with Read More...

"The church's windows are broken, its beige bricks are sooty, its paint is chipped. The 300-foot steeple, a hallmark of the St. Louis skyline, is pulling away from its foundation. One day it could tumble into traffic on Gravois Avenue.
St. Francis de Sales church, often called the Cathedral of South St. Louis, is an ideal home for a group of Roman Catholic priests devoted to restoration. But restoring this 19th-century neo-Gothic church to its former glory is only one reason St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke assigned the priests to oversee St. Francis de Sales.
The real mission of the group, called the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, is the restoration of the traditional Latin Mass.
The 1,600-year-old Mass isn't used much today, but it's making a comeback.
That effort will get a boost Friday when Burke — one of the most devoted supporters of the old Latin rite among U.S. bishops — will ordain two deacons of the Institute at the Cathedral Basilica. Burke has ordained members several times in Italy, where the institute is based outside Florence. But Friday will mark the first time members of the 17-year-old institute will be Read More...
"The large number of multiple-burial sites, some containing skeletons of dwarfs and deformed children accompanied by ornate grave goods, suggests that human sacrifice was a custom in Europe between 28,000 and 10,000 years ago, says biologist Vincenzo Formicola of the University of Pisa in Italy.
"These findings point to the possibility that human sacrifices were part of the ritual activity of these populations," writes Formicola.
"Elaborate burials, selected individuals, rich ornamentation, and site of inhumation continue to raise questions... and stimulate reflections about social organization, conceptions of life and death, and the perception of diversity," writes Formicola.
Housley said that evidence of cannibalism has been found at sites 12,000 years ago in the same area, so if Formicola's conclusions are correct it could be part of a pattern." CBSnews
Many may be shocked at such findings, however, Christians should not be. Such atrocities are the rule and not the exception for man without the grace of God. "Left to itself, human nature tends to death, and utter apostasy from God, however plausible it may look externally." Card. Newman.
Historically, it was only Christianity that elevated human life, and man from the depths of such evil. Q. Give us some insight into Western Europe's so-called "birth dearth."
A. Right now the European Union average is below 1.5 children per woman. It takes 2.1 to replace the population under modern conditions. Population demographers call anything less than 1.5 children "very low fertility." As you move towards one child per woman, you are talking about cutting your population in half Read More...
The church's vocal campaign to defeat a proposal to legalize abortions in Mexico City in April stepped over the line, politicians said in a complaint, after some prelates suggested voters should remember who voted for the law at election time. The law passed anyway.
On Saturday, the government dismissed the complaint, saying the church had done nothing wrong. But prelates say they are tired of being challenged over their every word.
If the Mexican Constitution's articles six and seven guarantee the right of free speech to all individuals ... then any law that limits that speech is like making priests second-class citizens, Carlos Villa, a church spokesman in Mexico City, said Monday.

Northern Ireland's largest Protestant church yesterday adopted guidelines to help clergy deal sensitively with gay church members.
The Presbyterian General Assembly in Belfast adopted the pastoral guidelines by 159 votes to 120.
It calls on the church to repent for times when gay people have been treated in ways that lack "grace."
They ask for the church to create a "PCI Safe Space" which can be phoned or visited anonymously by people who wish to discuss their sexuality.
Church members are also told to modify their language and avoid phrases such as "Love the sinner, hate the sin," or "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve."
The report also dispels the myth that gay people are paedophiles.
Former moderator Rev Dr Ken Newell said it was his hope that the whole church would apologise to gay people "for any hurt that you have experienced."

A CULTURE NEARING AN END--EUROPE'S LACK OF NATIVE WORKERS LEAVES NO CHOICE BUT TO LIBERALIZE IMMIGRATION
"We need more children to support our societies into the future, but it is very clear now: No children are coming."
German urban-affairs expert Albrecht Goeschel
If you are not yet convinced that the battle to save Europe is NOW-- and not in the year 2050 when the demographics have inalterably taken hold of the continent, then here is a bit more information to bring any skeptics up to speed.
A recent report shows that Germany's birth rate continued to decline in 2006. The government's socialistic incentives designed to increase baby-making have failed, and the upbeat predictions of a baby boom are now bust. There were more deaths than births which means that Germans failed to replace themselves. There are now widespread reports of a loss of workers to do menial labor throughout Europe. Without native born workers Europe is left with no choice but to liberalize immigration laws in order to sustain its economy. This is a quandry since many fear that a liberalization of immigration laws may bring terrorism, or worse yet, the creation of Eurabia.
The battle to save Europe is now because the only way to prevent the seemingly inevitable disintegration of civilization as we know it-- is for the inhabitants of the continent to return to the faith--not to mere christianity, but specifically to the only religion that stands against the sins that have brought about this crisis --Catholicism. Nothing else can pry the contraceptives out of the hands of Europe's populace. Here is a report from McClatchy:
Last spring, as farmer Gerald Simianer was preparing to harvest white asparagus, one of Germany's culinary delicacies, he followed the instructions of his local labor office and employed at least 20 percent German

"I find joy in the sufferings I endure for you. In my own flesh I fill up what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ for the sake of His Body, the Church" (Col. 1:24).
The West rejects suffering as lacking dignity, purpose, and meaning. In times past a good or happy death meant a person had an opportunity to conduct a thorough examination of conscience and repent of all sin. The Catholic Church has always acknowledged the powerful redemptive nature of uniting one's suffering with Christ's Cross. But death with dignity has been diabolically twisted to rob one of the chance at reflection, and the grace of a possible death bed conversion. Now the ideal death is speedy, with minimum hassle on family or friends, and is totally pain-free due to mind altering drugs. A people that reject sacrifice and suffering as meaningless and something to escape from have lost the ability to love and thus the purpose of life.

Despite the cries to the contrary from feminists and historical revisionists, the female was elevated by Christianity, and harmony was promoted between the sexes. At every turn Islam demeans the woman, from the burka to the ease of divorce, and now the proposal of temporary marriage. This is what we can expect when bad dogma is translated into action. I am somewhat surprised that the secular left failed to introduce this as a "liberating" concept for women prior to Islam. As a woman--I fear the secularists and Islam equally.

It is critical that the West understand the fundamental beliefs of Islam and its objectives. To fail to do so could lead to our own demise. Here is a recent question and answer with Mark Steyn the author of America Alone on the topic:
"[W]hat would you say to those who believe that majority Islam is not synonymous with fundamentalist Islam?
Mark Steyn: Fundamentalist is a term we use rather carelessly. Very few people take the trouble to become suicide bombers and that's good news, but the reality is that substantial numbers of Muslims agree with the aims of the Jihadists even if they don't choose to blow themselves up. When Muslims in the West are polled, 40 to 60 percent wish to live under Sharia and wish to reside in the United Kingdom and the United States as opposed to Saudi Arabia. How can a person who lacks the true faith, or for that matter lacks essential truths, appear zealous and dutiful in the practice of their religion? From the muslim who kills in the name of allah, to the thrice divorced born again, or the contracepting Catholic--how can they appear to be religious while failing to follow God's commands? I recently stumbled upon an excellent explanation for this in a book called Letters To A Mother by Father Emmanuel Marie Andre.

"The religious feeling, being natural to man, is found in all men, faithful and infidels; for
Swedish authorities have permitted three families to screen embryos in order to create a child that will act as a stem cell donor for a dying sibling.
"Under the procedure, an embryo is tested in vitro for a desired genotype before implantation into the uterus, in what is called pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). That has been allowed for some time in Sweden, in particular to screen for single-gene diseases such as cystic fibrosis as well as chromosomal abnormalities such as Down's Syndrome. But for the first time, authorities will allow the embryos to be screened to find a tissue match for a sick sibling, in a process called human leukocyte antigen testing (HLA)."
"After the child is born, stem cells from its placenta and umbilical cord are transferred to the sick sibling. Once in the bone marrow, the stem cells will start producing blood cells. These are the first cases in Sweden to be granted the procedure following a law on genetic screening that came into force in July last year. The procedure has been criticized by some who consider the screening process unethical.
Call me negative! I can already see the future headline: "Embryo shopping approved for the dying"--after all --why stop at siblings? It is only a matter of time before master embryos are created which would enable us to shop for a biological slave that could save us from suffering and death.

On one side of the globe we have the FDA approval of yet another contraceptive pill called Lybrel--- an admitted take off on the word "liberty". This new sterility pill is seen as further liberating women by not only preventing pregnancy but also eradicating menstration.
On the other side of the globe we have the Chinese rioting over forced pregnancy testing, forced abortions, forced sterility and the lack of freedom to procreate. One nation sees liberation as sterility, another as fertility. One revels in sterility the other fights to death if necessary for the God given right to procreate.
Lybrel is not synonomous with liberty--despite what its makers and many women may believe. Any Chinese woman of child bearing age could attest to the lack of liberty that has been brought about under the government's forced one-child policy. Rather Lybrel and all other methods of artificial contraception pervert liberty, further enslave the West in sin, and spell demographic doom.

Separation of church and state is the constant cry from secularists. But this will never suffice. What secularists truly seek is the subjection of Church to the State in all things. It won't be long before the denial of sacraments to certain persons will be seen as a violation of civil rights and tantamount to hate.
This scenario is not a false alarm, but is very real and was predicted by Pope St. Pius X in 1907:
"[I]t is not enough for the modernist school that the State should be separated from the Church...the Church must be subject to the State. This, indeed, modernists may not yet say openly but they are forced by the logic of their position to admit it. For granted the principle that in temporal matters the State possesses the sole power, it will follow that when the believer, not satisfied with merely internal acts of religion, proceeds to external acts --such for instance as the reception or administration of the of the Sacraments --these will fall under the control of the State. What will then become of ecclesiastical authority, which can only be exercised by external acts? Obviously it will be completely under the dominion of the State." Pascendi Gregis
The domination of the State over religion has begun and can be seen in the following: Pharmacists and Catholic hospitals in many states no longer have the right to refuse to dispense abortion drugs based upon conscience. Landlords have no right to refuse tenancy to those who live a lifestyle that violates the landlord's beliefs or principles. Religious employers must provide birth control coverage for its employees. Some Western countries are now prosecuting those who interpret the bible in a "hateful" manner so as to offend homosexuals.

Europe has attempted to halt a demographic crash through socialistic legislation designed to stave off the muslim onslaught and increase its native population. Germany and other countries have begun paying women to have children and also provide nationalized child care. Although well intentioned, wisdom is lacking as to the source and solution. Because these laws are based upon a socialistic agenda, rather than bringing about lasting and necessary changes in the hearts and mind of its people --they will instead deepen the problem.
Paying women to have children is strictly an economic motivator and cannot achieve lasting generational changes that are needed for a society to continue to welcome children. Economic incentives do not make nurturing mothers and committed fathers. A self-giving, sacrificial mindset is required to rear children properly.
The children that are a product of these economic incentives are bought by the state, and then handed back over to the state at six weeks old. This is so mommy and daddy can Read More...
Europe continues down the road of secularization and de-christianization. This from Deutsche Welle: German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she has "given up hope" of having a reference to Europe's Judeo-Christian heritage enshrined in the new version of the European Union constitution.
Speaking in Brussels on Tuesday at a meeting with religious leaders of the Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths, Merkel said she "would like to have such a reference in the treaty ... but there are not many chances left."
Merkel, the daughter of a Protestant pastor and the leader of Germany's strongly Catholic CDU party, has been pushing strongly for a reference to Christianity in the new charter. However, any attempt to mention Christianity or God in the treaty has been strictly opposed by secular France, liberal countries such as Sweden and Denmark and by Britain. During the 2004 negotiations on the bloc's original constitution, there were concerns that any religious reference could anger Europe's Muslims and Jews.
Pope Benedict XVI has made it his mission to guard the Christian inheritance that the EU now squanders by deliberate ommission. Cardinal Bertone delivered a message from the Pope at "Together for Europe 2007" --a conference of 250 christian organizations that was held in Stuttgart Germany. Cardinal Bertone stated: 'I would like to mention in a particular way the loss of Europe's Christian memory and heritage, accompanied by a kind of practical agnosticism and religious indifference whereby many Read More...

Protestantism has bred the radical secular relativism that we are confronted with today. The breakdown of belief in a central moral authority has ripened into militant relativism. Ultimately the rejection of a central moral and religious authority will bring about the demise of the West and America in particular.
So many today will agree that multiculturalism is a horrid failure but what of pluralism?
America is protestant and was founded upon pluralism. Pluralism is the notion that all religious belief systems and philosophies are equally valid. For both pluralists and multiculturalists absolute truth does not exist.
This rejection of absolute truth and authority by protestantism has slowly brought about the wholesale rejection of truth and morality by modern man. As one man became his own pope with the creation of sola scriptura, today the secular man rejects the entire notion of objective truth and creates his own version of reality. The heresy of protestantism has as its ultimate fruit the creation and growth of relativism.
We often hear: "No one has the right to tell me what is right and wrong." An equivalent statement is said by protestants about authority and hierarchy: "Who is the Read More...

We look with horror on the attempts by Nazi Germany to create a perfect race by "improving" the Aryan gene pool. The potential for a backlash within the Society led him to his decision to resign from his post as president.
According to Beckwith’s blog, “I no longer think that it is possible for ETS to conduct its business and its meetings in a fashion that advances the Gospel of Christ as long as I remain as its president.” “For this reason, effective May 5, 2007, I resign as both President of the Evangelical Theological Society and a member of its executive committee.”
Dr. Beckwith’s journey back to the Church (Beckwith was raised Catholic) was sparked by his reading of some the bishops and theologians of the early Church. “In January, at the suggestion of a dear friend, I began reading the Early Church Fathers as well Read More...
This technology will no doubt push the West into the diabolical realm of sex selection. Any limitation on the right to abort --even for sex selection --will be seen as an infringement on the woman's right to choose. The irony is that a woman's right to choose will ultimately kill women. The death and destruction of feminism has come full circle.
From The London Paper: "Women in Britain can now discover the gender of their unborn baby just six weeks into their pregnancy with special DNA testing kits being sold over the internet.
International company DNA Worldwide is selling testing kits allowing parents in the UK to find out the sex of their baby a month and a half after conception, according to its website.
The kit is likely to fuel the controversy about the ethics of abortions as it could allow couples to "play God" and abort children if they are not of the gender they want.
Couples can pay just £189.95 over the internet for the kit, which will then be sent through the post complete with a prepaid return envelope.

This following article from Slate is entitled "Can the Latin Mass Make a Comeback?". It seems like asking if water or air can make a comeback. It is as if the return to the Tridentine Latin Mass is a mere trend, when in reality all of creation awaits the return of its mystery, reverence and grace.
"When word began to spread last year that Pope Benedict XVI might release a document that would allow some changes in the ways Catholic worship on Sunday mornings, the reaction in some quarters approached giddy enthusiasm. "It's coming … it's coming!" wrote one blogger of the imminent release of the papal decree. (As it turned out, its release was not so imminent. Catholics who were waiting are still waiting, though reports now suggest the announcement could come in a few weeks.)
Most Vatican documents, it's probably safe to say, are not designed to provoke such fits of anticipatory glee. So, how to explain the excitement?
The long-rumored document—said to take the form of a motu proprio, a personal initiative of the pope—would allow for broader use of the Tridentine, or, as it's commonly known, Latin Mass, by permitting Read More...
How tragic it is to lack the fullness of faith and to seek deliverance and release from sin, to no avail. How many of our modern day psychological ailments are due to unconfessed and unforgiven sin? So many in the emotional hype of being "born again", presume upon the mercy of God, without the assurance of forgiveness of sin that can only come from Christ through His Church. Sacramental confession is no mere human tradition or invention, as is online confession, rather it is the merciful creation of Christ which cleanses the sinner and absolves the conscience. Anything less is a cruel abuse of a sincere desire to be loosed from sin.
"The Catholic religion does not compel indiscriminate confession of sins; it allows us to remain hidden from the sight of all other men, save one to whom she bids us reveal the depths of our heart, and show ourselves as we are. There is only this one man in the world, whom she bids us undeceive, and him she binds to inviolable secrecy, so that this knowledge remains with him as if it were not. Former New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey, who resigned and divorced his second wife after announcing he was "a gay American" in 2004, has begun the process of becoming an Episcopal priest.
Mr. McGreevey, who was raised Roman Catholic and often described himself as devout during his political campaigns, became an Episcopalian on Sunday at St. Bartholomew's Church in Manhattan, said the Rev. Mr. Bean told the Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., that Mr. McGreevey has entered the "discernment" phase, which involves examining whether one has a calling to the ministry and usually precedes seminary work.

FROM THE CALIFORNIA CATHOLIC DAILY: Millions of women in the United States ingest excess estrogen every day in the form of birth control pills. Within 24 hours, the effluent from those 12 million doses ends up in our sewage systems. And then?
The April 17 Scientific American reported results of a study warning that “many streams, rivers and lakes already bear warning signs that the fish caught within them may also be carrying enough chemicals that mimic the female hormone estrogen to cause breast cancer cells to grow.”

"CATHOLICISM ALONE" - THE LAST BEST HOPE TO COUNTER THE CULTURE OF DEATH AND PREVENT THE DEATH OF THE WEST
Contrary to Mark Steyn’s America Alone, the last best hope for the survival of the West is not America, rather the world’s only hope lies in the return to the Catholic faith. The Catholic Church is the only church that condemns the sins that have led to the demographic crisis that faces the West. Thus it is “Catholicism Alone” that is the last best hope for America and the West.
America Alone by Mark Steyn is an excellent book that warns of the demise of the West due to a “self-extinction” by the Western world which fails to have children while it “outsources its breeding” to Islam. Since Europe is fast becoming Eurabia, Mark Steyn concludes that America --if it has the “will” is destined to be the lone defender against Islam.
“But America can survive, prosper and defend its freedom only if it continues to believe in itself, in the sturdier virtues of self-reliance (not governement), in the centrality of family, and in the conviction that our country really is the world’s last best hope.” America Alone

Lately I have become increasingly disappointed in our culture and where we are headed. The radical homosexual agenda has so effectively spread its message, and continues to do so at an alarming rate, not only among adults, but more importantly among our children. Man is no longer concerned with "sin" which offends God, instead he is concerned with offending his fellow man's feelings about himself.
A culture that immerses itself in the pursuit of mortal sin cannot grasp the things of God. We have become a culture that is impervious to God's grace. The depth of the blindness and disregard to spiritual realities is unsurpassed historically and unsurpassed in depravity. Satan knows that the corruption of youth is the key to the future, and apparently so do his cohorts. This world is his dominion and he seals his citizens with a deadly mark on the soul. No wonder souls are said to be falling like snowflakes into hell.
These are a must watch couple of videos--click here. We cannot turn a blind eye to the methods used to corrupt our youth--no matter how disturbing. We must expose the darkness so that we can effectively do battle for souls.
But amidst the darkness of our wholehearted acceptance of homosexuality as equal to heterosexuality, is a nation that seems to be hanging on by a thread to the truths of God and His church. It is a nation that is clearly like a lamb in the midst Read More...
Here is secular analysis of the Pope and his mission to restore latin to its proper place in the Church, from Expatica:
"Pope Benedict XVI may have raised a few eyebrows with his red Prada shoes and Father Christmas-like "camauro" hat but the German-born pontiff is no revolutionary on Catholic Church matters.
No one was surprised then when the German-born Pope Benedict XVI issued strict rules on how to celebrate Mass and reaffirmed the importance of the celibacy rule for priests this month.
However, there was one minor aspect of this apostolic exhortation, Sacramentum Caritatis (Sacrament of Charity), that will likely make waves: His decision to encourage the use of Latin in Church.
"I ask that future priests, from their time in the seminary, receive the preparation needed to understand and to celebrate Mass in Latin, and also to use Latin texts and execute Gregorian chant," the pope wrote in his message to clergymen and ordinary Catholics.
The traditional Tridentine Mass in Latin was replaced with updated liturgies in local Read More...

At the beginning of the war in Iraq, (in Spring 2003) there was some hope that a democratic government would take over and would bring justice and peace to its people. But the elimination of tyranny, thanks to the Coalition forces, only brought to the fore the worst evil and inhuman forces that consume Arab-Muslim societies. The war in Iraq exposed American's shortcomings, Western divisions and unreadiness to confront global jihad. The chaotic situation there and the nuclearisation of Iran have fortified the Islamists.

Rest assured, the recent supreme court decision upholding the ban on partial birth abortion will cause a renewed call for the separation of church and state from the left.
From Politico: "The decision was...notable for the way the nine justices split on the question -- 5-4, with the Court's five Catholic justices forming the majority.
"Never before has the court had five Catholic justices, and their joining together in a decision to limit abortion, of all hot-button issues, is likely to spark discussion about the role of religion in forming social policy."

The modern secular university is a wasteland of relativism, multiculturalism, and nihilism. Are we supposed to be surprised at how this "world view" manifests itself? Under secularism, why should anger be restrained? Why should we not kill? The fruits of secularism are tragic, and are an embarrassment. It is absurd to think that the secularism found in the West is attractive and inviting to Islam, and will ultimately breed assimilation.

We are all guilty, at one time or another, of failing to reveal God's truths to a fellow human being who needed to hear it. But here are some words of wisdom to encourage our faint-heartedness:
"If we do not tell others the truth, it is perhaps because we feel they are not disposed to accept it, but also it is often through cowardice, through self-centeredness, because we have not the courage to face up to their displeasure. Because we fear to offend them we do not dare to love them truly and to the bitter end. For loving others means seeking what is for their good, even in spite of themselves. Loving others means helping them to bring about within themselves the triumph of truth over their paltry day-to-day "reality". Loving means helping every man to learn God's plan for him. Indisputably, charity of this kind forbids us to allow others what we know is not for their own good. The true lover is he who faithfully, patiently, realistically and in silence...strives to help others to bring to fruition what is best within them. Read More...

How long must we endure the lies of feminism? The demise of Western culture is largely due to our embrace of feminism and its inherent requirement that children be abandoned by their mothers. Despite the destruction, one nation after another continues to expand "childcare" until it has become another entitlement program. I transcribed an old tape I had from a talk given by the late Father John Hardon in 1999 from his Catholic nursing home in Detroit. Fr Hardon entitled his talk “Sexual Suicide”. He had the grace of detachment from this world that enabled him to truly see the realities of our times. He was a prophet.
“We begin then by asking this question --what is sexual suicide?...[It is] chaos introduced into one civilized nation after another.
Well then how do you define sexual suicide. Lets describe it as understood by those that recognize its terrifying and I mean terrifying implications. First sexual suicide is liberation of the human sexual powers. [This] has created a society that is positively hostile -- and I mean--hostile to the family and to the institution of marriage.
A society [infected by] sexual suicide fails to recognize the natural order of the male and female gender. God created two genders to cooperate with one another in the procreation of the human race... Sexual suicide is the final destination of the feminist movement.

The Battle for the soul of the West has begun and is NOW. The battle does not begin when the predicted demographics crisis actually takes hold of the West. The battle does not begin when the persecution of Christianity is the norm throughout the West. The battle does not begin when authentic Christianity has been eradicated to such an extent that it has no voice of authority to counter the lies of our age. We are the generation that must do battle-- it does not begin with our children or our grandchildren's generation. The battle for the soul of the West is now.
Furthermore, this battle must first begin inside of our individual souls. There is no room for wishy-washy, lukewarm Catholicism, because as Fr. John Hardon stated: "ordinary Catholics will not survive". Especially during this Holy week we must seek to obtain the holiness and courage that can only come from the transforming power of Christ's literal and real Body and Blood. A people that have no life in them because they lack the Body and Blood of Jesus will eventually succumb to the illusions of this world. Crackers and Juice and a mere "remembrance meal" cannot sustain the Christian faith in a nation, a denomination and most importantly in a soul.
If we seek holiness instead of worldliness, if we adhere to the wisdom of the Church instead of secular wisdom, and if we obey God's laws despite the cries of foolishness from the world, we may eventually stop hearing about churches becoming mosques. The following article is from the N.Y. Times:

Hilaire Belloc predicted the resurrection of Islam.
"In Islam there has been no such dissolution of ancestral doctrine --or, at any rate, nothing corresponding to the universal break-up of religion in Europe. It is precisely because of counter cultural priests like Fr. Johnson that the Tridentine Rite was kept alive and so many are now anxiously awaiting the motu proprio.

Father Daniel Johnson, a champion of pre-Vatican II Roman Catholic traditions and the centuries-old Tridentine Mass, has died. He was 77.

"He was a pioneer in reforming liturgical reform," said Michael J. Sundstedt, a longtime parishioner at St. Mary's by the Sea in Huntington Beach, where Johnson served as pastor for 25 years before retiring in 2004.
When Johnson arrived at the tiny wooden church in 1978, it was in danger of closing because membership had dwindled to about 400 people, church administrators recalled.
Johnson began walking door to door in the neighborhood, sometimes in the rain, inviting people to church. He also visited the Huntington Beach Pier every evening, striking up conversations.

Like Exhale's confidential talk line for women who have had abortions, the six e-cards available on the group's Web site were designed to be nonpartisan and encompass the range of someone's potential responses to going through an abortion.
"Women having abortions are calling our line because often they don't have someone to talk to — it's a stigmatized issue," said Aspen Baker, founder and executive director of Oakland-based Exhale.
One card expresses sympathy, offering the gentle reminder that, "As you grieve, remember that you are loved." Another provides encouragement for someone who "did the right thing." Yet another strikes a religious tone with the thought that "God will never leave you or forsake you."
An E-card and a nonjudgmental hotline is the world's answer to the pain and torture that comes from abortion and mortal sin. No amount of confessions via a secular hotline will relieve these women of the burden of such a heinous sin. They need divine intervention. Only Jesus through His Church can loose these women from their sins.

"[T]emptation is necessary for us, because it teaches us to know ourselves.
“Now what does God do to bring us to a knowledge of ourselves, to make us conscious of our unworthiness? He allows the devil to approach us....O my brethren, how little are we, and how wrong it is for us to rely upon our fine resolutions!”
“[T]emptation is necessary to convince our mind of our unworthiness, and to prevent pride from becoming master over us. Now, you may think that the people who are the most tempted, are the drunkards, the slanderers, the unchaste, who wallow in the mire of their shame, or perhaps the misers. No my brethren, these are not the people who are tempted the most. On the contrary, the devil may even try to restrain them, for fear that they may not live long enough to do evil and help cast souls into hell by their bad example. St Augustine teaches us that the devil does not tempt such people particularly: he rather despises and neglects them.
From LIFENEWS: Italy Baby Boy Dies When Doctors Do Erroneous Abortion After Bad Test
The baby boy who became the victim of an abortion after doctors failed a disability test on him died over the weekend. Physicians advised his mother to have an abortion after they had misdiagnosed a physical deformity but the boy survived the procedure.
This week we had a supreme example of Luciferian hypocrisy and manipulation of the Truth by Sean Hannity, who in one sentence claims to be a "devout" Catholic and in the next defends birth control. His so called "interview" of Fr Thomas Eutenuer of Human Life International was nothing more than a defensive and vicious attack.
I had the naivete to hope that as a declared "conservative" and a Catholic, Hannity understood the societal and moral blight that birth control has been to the West, or at a minimum to opt out of the "Luciferian conspiracy".
The following is an excerpt from Salt Of The Earth, an interview with Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, before he became Pope.
“[I]t seems generally easier not to believe than to believe. It is paradoxical: on the one hand faith is present in principle, man is a religious being; on the other hand he has to struggle with it constantly.
The ease of unbelief is nonetheless relative. It exists in the sense that it is easy to throw off the bonds of faith and to say, I am not going to exert myself; this is burdensome; I’m leaving that aside. This first stage is what you call the easy part of unbelief. But to live with this is not at all so easy. To live without faith means, then, to find oneself first in some nihilistic state and then, nonetheless. to search for reference points. Living a life of unbelief has its complications. If you examine the philosophy of unbelief in Sartre, Camus, and so forth, you see that readily.
"Liberty will ever be more free and secure in proportion as license is kept in restraint."
Pope Leo XIII
Secularists condemn Christianity as the foe of all liberty, most especially in the realm of intellectual and social liberties. They believe that the West will only be free when all vestiges of Christianity are removed from our culture.
The secularists are wrong. The abandonment of Christianity as a basis for our laws will eventually destroy our liberties. It is precisely because the West embraced Christianity that we have enjoyed freedom so consistently and extensively throughout history.
A delicate balance between authority and liberty is necessary for the proper functioning of a society. Too much liberty leads to anarchy, while too much authority leads to tyranny. The excess of either leads to a backlash toward the other.
Liberty increases or decreases depending on how a society views the nature of man and the value of human life. The hallmark of all pagan cultures throughout history has been the lack of belief in the inherent dignity of human life.
Without a belief in God or the afterlife secularists live only for this world. It is therefore incumbent upon them to create a utopia out of this world. But the secularist's utopian world view is doomed to fail. The only question is will we survive to see its destruction or will we perish with it. To survive we need the wisdom that only proceeds from God.
The secularists are wise in their own estimation but wordly wisdom is foolishness to God. The judgments of God are far different than the judgments of man. The secularists do and approve of those things that please man but offend God.
The Godless secularists are very proud of their “works”. Read More...
"...secularism is a religion that compels no specified behaviors and asks for nothing of its adherents. Even a secular fundamentalist would not suffer, let alone die, for the cause of secularism. After all, the dogma of relativism tells them that their beliefs are no better than anyone else's."
According to a recent Harris opinion poll only one in three people in England say they are "a believer". In Italy less than two-thirds are believers, and in France it's less than one in three.
A recent ICM poll found that an overwhelming majority of Britons believe that religion does more harm than good. Neither of the above polls account for the percentage of "believers" that are Muslim in Britain and France.
Everywhere we hear the mantra that religion has caused nothing but hatred, violence and bloodshed throughout history. The secularists assert that they can do a better job at keeping peace, justice and order in society than Christianity did.
