A woman who sold pants in her retail store in Vancouver went to confession in Italy to Padre Pio and was refused absolution...
"He commanded her to return home to Canada and dispose of all this stock, and not to give any of the items to people who might wear them, and if she wanted his absolution, she could come back to Italy and receve it, only after she ruthlessly carried out his orders." Anne McGinn Cillis, Arrivederci, Padre Pio, "A Spiritual Daughter Remembers.
Saint Pio also refused access to the confessional to those who were immodestly dressed. On the door of the church was this message...
"By Padre Pio's explicit wish women must enter the confessional wearing skirts at least 8 inches below the knee. It is forbidden to borrow longer dresses in church and to wear them for the Confessional." Dorothy Gaudiose, Prophet of the People: A Biography of Padre Pio.

How contrary is this great joy to the culture of death mentality that prevails today: "I simply cannot afford this child; this will interrupt my career or tie me down or demand too much of me." Our post-Christian culture is at war with newborn life, the family and is soon to see a new president who promises to roll back all the pro-life achievements of the last forty years.
We must remember there is no true culture if family life is not held sacred or if its stability is in any way at the mercy of human whims and passion. History verifies this -especially Roman history. If "the power that was Rome, the glory that was Greece," decayed and perished, leaving virtually nothing behind but ruins, it was chiefly because divorce, voluntary and selfish childlessness, and even a deliberate refusal to marry sapped the moral and spiritual strength of the race.
"Steriles moriuntur", is the harsh but ghastly verdict that the greatest Roman historian pronounced on his own people, Titus Livius. "They die barren" (they leave none behind to carry on the empire); they are barren, on the other hand, they are dead within themselves because Read More...

From Euronews: The Macias Picavea state school in Valladolid must now remove the religious symbols from classrooms and public spaces. The case was sparked by a 2005 complaint from a parent and a local secular association.
The judgement is said to be the first of its kind in the country’s history.
Despite the provisions of the 1978 constitution, ensuring the separation of Church and state, Catholic symbols are prominent in many of Spain’s schools and colleges. From The Irish Times: IT IS “a myth” to say there is a continuing dearth of vocations to the Catholic priesthood in Ireland, the church’s national co-ordinator of diocesan vocations, Fr Paddy Rushe, has said.
Noting that 30 men entered seminaries to train as priests in Ireland last September, with 31 having done so in September 2007 and 30 in September 2006, he contrasted this with the situation at the beginning of the decade when, in 2000 for instance, 13 men entered. Of that number nine were ordained last year.
Of those entering in recent years, he expected that at least 18 would be ordained in each year. “The problem is that when people sign up, it takes six or seven years for them to be ready,” Fr Rushe said.
This meant that “we are only starting to see people emerge who signed up in 2001, which was a bad year for the Catholic Church as scandals broke and we were at the height of the Celtic Tiger”.
Should the numbers of seminarians continue to rise, he expected an influx of new priests to the Irish Catholic Church by 2014. Read More

For teenagers to control their fertility or for the government to control their fertility?
But critics warn that the scheme, which is being rolled out at teenage pregnancy 'hot spots' around the country, will promote promiscuity.
There are also fears the move could fuel the spread of sexually transmitted infections and that the powerful drugs, which render girls infertile for up to three years, are unsuitable for their young bodies.
The Government has written to 21 councils where teenage pregnancy rates have stagnated or risen, telling them to push long-acting reversible contraception injections and implants.
It also wants more school-based contraception clinics to be set up, the Sunday Telegraph reported." Read More

But what is the result of this separation? Today, we not only ignore God's commands, but we also deny God what He is due--worship in accordance with His will, and obedience to His Church. FROM Oxfordmail: "A plan to axe the word Christmas from this year’s city centre festive celebrations has been criticised by religious leaders.
Council chiefs have confirmed there will be no traditional Christ-mas light switch-on in Oxford this year, but instead revellers will be greeted with a 25-metre high mobile of lanterns in the shape of the solar system.
A city council spokesman confirmed this year’s event would be called the “Winter Light Festival” to include all religious denominations.
Shoppers on the streets of Oxford criticised the decision to cut out the word Christmas and called for a return to tradition.
There will also be no mention of the word Christmas in the reduced "festive lights" programme to be erected in the city.
The idea is the brainchild of the charity Oxford Inspires, which has been set up to promote culture in the county and increase participation in cultural events.
Councillors have claimed they are not “Christmas killers”, but the move has outraged religious leaders of all denominations in the city.
Sabir Hussain Mirza, chairman of the Muslim Council of Oxford, said: "I'm really upset about this. This is the one occasion which everyone looks forward to in the year. Christians, Muslims and other religions all look forward to Christmas.

From dailymail: "Sharia tribunals will be able to decide how a Muslim couple divide their money and property and who gets the children.
The decision follows nine months of controversy over the role of tribunals run according to Islamic strictures.
Muslim ministers have warned that sharia should not have an official role because it accords unequal status to men and women.
Giving more weight to evidence from men could hand them a greater share of property and enhanced custody rights."
The sharia law proceeding and the judgment will be secret. Therefore, any review of the decision by a formal court would not reveal any injustices.
"Robert Whelan, of the Civitas think-tank, said: 'The problem with the Government's attitude is the big question over how far submission to sharia courts is voluntary among Muslim women.
'Women who live in some communities may have no option but to go to the sharia court. The case is then rubber-stamped by a family court without any of us knowing how the decision was reached.'
Islamic tribunals have authority to make decisions in business and financial disputes where both parties agree to accept arbitration."
After celebrating the Feast of Christ the King on Sunday, I cannot help but think that all hell has been set loose on the world. When Christian-based laws are replaced with the inequitable and demeaning laws of Islam we have embarked on a road that will bring about horrific injustices.
"With God and Jesus Christ...excluded from political life, with authority derived not from God but from man, the very basis of that authority has been taken away, because the chief reason of the distinction between ruler and subject has been eliminated. The result is that human society is tottering to its fall, because it has no longer a secure and solid foundation. "Ministers said putting social education on the national curriculum for five- to 16-year-olds would help cut teen pregnancy rates and binge drinking.
Schools Minister Jim Knight said making social and health education compulsory was "a bold move and a necessary one".
"We need structured classroom teaching ... Parents bring up children, not schools or governments, but schools can help guide them through the maze of issues and prepare them for the transition from child to adult."
Mr Knight said the system would be flexible enough to allow schools to take parents' values and beliefs into account."
Yes, they will take note of the parents values and then they will trample on them and the innocence of the five year olds, nevertheless. Dare I say children need God, His laws and the knowledge of eternal reward and punishment to do the right thing--not a relativistic, sex-promoting government program.

From dailymail (HT STELLA LITTLE): "Parents waving their children off to Scout camp may soon have more to worry about than the youngsters swapping ghost stories after dark.
In a move that has alarmed traditionalists, the Scout Association is to introduce sex education for its young members.
Leaders will be able to give confidential contraceptive advice to under-16s and even hand out emergency condoms on trips.
The Association insists the information will help Scouts resist peer pressure to have sex before they are ready.
But critics claim it will encourage boys and girls to become sexually active earlier.
Nick Seaton, of the Campaign for Real Education, said: 'This will horrify a lot of parents.
'These things have nothing to do with Scouting. They should be sticking to the traditional activities of camp fires and sing- songs instead of learning about sexually transmitted diseases and emergency contraception.'
The advice that leaders can give is outlined in a factsheet published today by the Scout Association, which has 60,000 girl members and 400,000 boys and young men.
Scouts aged ten-and-a-half to 14 will be able to discuss where to get contraception and pregnancy testing and how to find sexual health clinics."

The criticism that Islamic tenets flout the principles of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights came during a meeting of Spanish-speaking bishops at the three-week gathering, the report said.
The Catholic church, in its relations with Muslims, "should keep in mind their conception of marriage and the family, which does not accord women the rights contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights", said the spokesman, Julian Carron, quoting from a summary of the discussion.
For this reason, the bishops called on the church to exercise "caution" in its efforts at rapprochement with Islam, Carron said."

"The Rt Rev Nick Baines, Bishop of Croydon, has urged churches to use hits by bands such as U2 and the Beatles in their services.

From the Scotsman: "Secret talks are under way to bring Islamic sharia law courts to Scotland, The Scotsman has learned.
"Qamar Bhatti, director of the Muslim Arbitration Tribunal (MAT), which runs the courts, admitted discussions were taking place with lawyers and Muslim community groups in Scotland.
"The group is believed to be aiming to set up courts in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
"In September it emerged that five sharia courts, ruling on civil cases from divorce to domestic violence and financial disputes, had been operating for more than a year in London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester and at MAT headquarters in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
"The courts have legal powers, with their decisions enforceable through the county courts or high courts.
"However, concerns have been raised about the establishment of a "dual legal system".
"Women's domestic violence groups have also voiced fears, saying traditional sharia law arbitration is "dangerous and inappropriate" in cases of abuse."
A parallel or dual-legal system which permits Sharia law decisions to have the same force and effect as a Western court will never satisfy the followers of Islam. The goal of Islam is to impose Sharia law throughout the West and bring us all under submission. No culture will survive that believes it can equally co-exist with Islam.
Since 1571 Europe and much of the world have forgotten their history, the Rosary, and indeed the faith. Radical and adversarial Islam is once again marching with hostile forces that are multiplying demographically across Europe in lightning speed, while a sterile and abortion-obsessed Europe commits suicide as it bows helplessly before its indefatigable assailants. Crippled before its arch enemy, post-Christian Europe can only limp along before these monolithic forces of evil because of Europe's own perilous weakness of no longer being unified in its faith, beliefs and culture.
There are different types of evil that plague the world- the worst being moral or spiritual evil. It includes all those who reject God as He truly reveals HIMSELF--through his son Jesus Christ. Since the followers of Islam reject Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation the religion of Islam poses a grave spiritual evil to not only its followers but to the world.
But evil is always in the last analysis a privation of good. For example, night is a privation of the light of day, while vice is a privation of God's goodness. Moreover, evil Read More...
Here is a New York Times article on the resurgence of Latin which is described as the "language of scholars and educated people"--and I might add the devout. My own father was a latin teacher in a very wealthy public school school system. Parents who wanted their children to become doctors and lawyers demanded the latin language as preparation for higher education. Most in my homeschooling community are also teaching their children latin because it is and always will be the language of the Church.
Speaking of homeschooling here is another interesting renaissance concept in education called the Chesterton Academy which is headed by Dale Ahlquist.

"A crisis whose primary cause, in addition to the abortive and unsustainable crusades they are waging in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq, is their turning their backs on Allah's revealed laws, which forbid interest-bearing transactions, exploitation, greed and injustice in all its forms."
Gadahn, 29, grew up in Riverside County, east of Los Angeles. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in Santa Ana in 2005 and charged with one count of treason and two counts of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
The FBI says Gadahn moved to Pakistan in 1998 and attended an al-Qaida training camp six years later, serving as a translator and consultant."
Physical and economic jihad is a religious obligation under Islam. Anything from the fraudulent receipt of government handouts, to forcing a military drain on our economy is justified in order to bring down the enemies of Islam. Lately, though, it seems that Islam could simply sit back and wait for us to destroy ourselves through, among other things, greed.
"I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The danger I see looming is the scenario of America as the last man standing. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe. In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: who lost Europe? Patriots from around Europe risk their lives every day to prevent precisely this scenario form becoming a reality.
I must add that this could only be the case if America were to survive the current economic crisis which is now being postponed until a later date due to the bailout of the greedy. I would also add that the last best hope against the destruction of Western Civilization is the Catholic Church and not America.
"First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe. Then, I will say a few things about Islam..."

British schools are even encouraged to monitor their rolls carefully and raise the alarm when children disappear.
From Dailymail (HT: Stella Little): "Thousands of Britons - mainly young women from the Asian communities - are thought to be victims of forced marriage each year, but concerns are increasingly focused on the plight of underage girls who are being offered for marriage to foreign men when they have barely left primary school.
"No accurate figures exist for the scale of the problem, although the Government's Forced Marriage Unit has helped rescue around 60 children aged 15 or under in the past four years - including 11 so far in 2008 - and experts fear that may represent only the tip of the iceberg.

"The Calvijn met Junior College in Amsterdam and the Huygens College, also in the capital, are both closing for the Sugar Feast. The Islamic festival marks the end of the Ramadan month of fasting and falls on or around 1 October this year.

"The Party for Freedom (PVV) wants clarification from Education Minister Ronald Plasterk in the Lower House today. "This really cannot be allowed," in the view of PVV MP Martin Bosma. "The Netherlands is no Muslim country and will never become one either. We must never give in to the pressure of this ideology, which wants to take over the Netherlands bit by bit."
"According to a spokesman for the Amarantis Education Group, under which both schools fall, the free day does not clash with its Christian principles. Various other schools throughout the Netherlands also ensure that their pupils are free on Sugar Feast day, according to Reformatorisch Dagblad."
These Christian slaves were often freed by the payment of ransom money. The original Mercedarians travelled as merchants through Muslim territory, freeing many Christian slaves.
Prayers are traditionally said on this day by the Catholic Church to also rescue England from the heresy of Protestantism which keeps people from the one true faith and from the Mother of God. England was once known as Our Lady's Dowry.
Today we have an obvious need to invoke Our Lady of Ransom to release souls from modern errors including relativism which is the deadly fruit of the Reformation. We must also petition her to obtain from her Divine Son a return to the Catholic Faith by the inhabitants of the Western world who are once again threatened with Islamic jihad. She is the woman clothed with the sun that has been granted an enormously critical role in the battle against evil in this world. She is our merciful mother who will guide us to her Son and to a degree of holiness that is otherwise unobtainable.
The Opening Prayer (Collect) for this Feast Day of Our Lady of Ransom prays:
"O God, through the glorious Mother of Your Son You enriched the Church with a new religious congregation dedicated to freeing Christians from slavery among the heathens. We venerate Mary as the foundress of this institution and pray that she may also deliver us from our sins and the slavery of the devil through her own merits and intercession. Through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord . . .
And from Fr John Hardon S.J.: "Sexual suicide is sexual liberation that has created a society hostile to the family and the institution of marriage. It is a society that fails to recognize the natural order of the male and female gender. Sexual suicide is the ultimate destination of “feminism”: female inferiority and familiarity and familial disintegration. Sexual suicide is the pollution of a culture by false ideas and misused technology. The result is an erosion of love and family that reduces sex to a form of sexual massage...Sexual suicide is the wide spread virus of radical feminism that has penetrated the culture of so many Western nations."
Women have become sex objects for the pleasure of noncommittal men who no longer feel the responsibility of rearing or financially supporting their offspring. Women who become pregnant and carry their babies to term are left to support the "family" while their children are deprived of a mother and a father. Rather than gaining equality with men and liberation from men, women have become inferior slaves to men's basest nature---sloth and lust. Suicidal sex will destroy us.

Hilaire Belloc on usury:
"Usury does not mean high interest. It means any interest, however low, demanded for an unproductive loan. It is not only immoral [on which account it has been condemned by every moral code-----Pagan-----Mohammedan-----or Catholic] but it is ultimately destructive of society. It has only been the rule of our commerce to take usury since the breakup of Europe following on the Reformation. Usury will destroy our society, but meanwhile there is no escape from it. We are coming near the end of its maleficent action, not through awaking to its evils but because it is reaching the end of its resources."

The Vatican's request to move the body of Cardinal Newman from his grave in Rednal to the Oratory Church is merely a step on the path to being declared a Blessed and ultimately a Saint. ROTTERDAM, August 14, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Two Dutch cities have instructed their marriage registrars to recognize polygamous marriages of immigrants that have taken place in countries where having more than one wife is permitted, such as Morocco.
Although polygamy is technically banned in the Netherlands, the marriages of Muslims who have several wives are now recognized by Dutch authorities in the cities of Rotterdam and Amsterdam, reports the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad.
Until now, registrars in the major cities had been recording the irregular marriages of immigrants, but the Central Bureau for Statistics (CBS), where all marriages are registered nationally, has been removing these bigamous or polygamous marriages from its files, on the assumption that administrative errors had occurred, reports NIS News.
The city councils of Amsterdam and Rotterdam have informed the CBS that the marriage records are not a mistake.
CBS researcher Jan Latten told NRC Handelsblad that the CBS would study whether or not to recognize the bigamous and polygamous marriages. "We will now investigate whether this can be regarded as a trend that was previously not recognised. If this is the case, it is our task to report this."
"At present, it is not included in our statistics," Latten pointed out. "In the same way, we delete marriages involving fourteen-year-olds. A man with two wives just cannot exist by law." READ MORE
Jesus indeed came to ransom the human race and made a general atonement for all sins by His bloody death upon the cross. The price was paid and accepted by the all-just God. But the merits of the redeeming Blood were to be applied to the individual soul through the Church which Christ established.
Jesus stated to the Apostle Peter: "thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven." "We are witnessing an unusual sight: a Roman Catholic solemn mass, celebrated according to an ancient Latin rite effectively outlawed 40 years ago. And it’s taking place in the 13th-century chapel of Merton college, Oxford, which has been Anglican for 400 years." Damian Thompson
The rest of this article is a must read. The quiet revolution that is sweeping across Catholicism is nothing short of miraculous and reveals God's mercy and love for His people.
While on the subject of the latin mass, I have re-posted an excellent video showing the transformation of an altar for latin mass. (also if you haven't seen this one --you really should!).
Finally, I highly recommend The Spirituality of the Ancient Liturgy Part I and The Spirituality of the Ancient Liturgy Part II, both by Father Chad Ripperger, F.S.S.P. which appeared in the Latin Mass Magazine.
"According to The Times and The Daily Telegraph, Rowan Williams argued in the letters, written in 2000 and 2001, that biblical prohibitions on homosexuality were targeted at "heterosexuals looking for sexual variety in their experience."
"I concluded that an active sexual relationship between two people of the same sex might therefore reflect the love of God in a way comparable to marriage, if and only if it had about it the same character of absolute covenanted faithfulness," Williams was reported to have written.
The letters were apparently written to Deborah Pitt, a psychiatrist and evangelical Christian, while Williams was still archbishop of Wales.
He was appointed Archbishop of Canterbury, the head of the Church of England and the leader of the world's 77-million-strong Anglican Communion, in 2002.
According to the newspapers, Williams apparently wrote that the church "has shifted its stance on several matters -- notably the rightness of lending money at interest and the moral admissibility of contraception so I am bound to ask if this is another such issue."
Relativism lies at the heart of protestantism as clearly revealed by Williams' statement and over time by the abandonment of all orthodoxy by one protestant denomination after another. Without the rock Protestant Christianity is battered and shaken until it concedes to the world on every sin that man seeks to engage in.

According to the late Fr John Hardon S.J., only those who would profess the following are Christian--"No one else is":
"I believe in my heart and openly profess that the bread and wine placed upon the altar are, by the mystery of the sacred prayer and the words of the Redeemer, substantially changed into the true and life-giving flesh and blood of Jesus Christ our Lord, and that after the consecration, there is present the true body of Christ which was born of the Virgin and offered up for the salvation of the world, hung on the cross and now sits at the right hand of the Father, and that there is present the true blood of Christ which flowed from his side. They are present not only by means of a sign and of the efficacy of the Sacrament, but also in the very reality and truth of their nature and substance." Composed by St Gregory VII for the profession of the heretic Berengarius in 1079.
Fr Hardon recommended that the above be memorized along with the following by all:
"Surely the word of Christ which could make out of nothing that which did not exist, can change things already in existence into what they were not. For it is no less extraordinary to give things new natures than to change their natures." St Ambrose, Bishop of Milan.
The devil never ceases in his mission to destroy the faith of the children of the God and steal them away from the Bride of Christ.
While on vacation my family attended mass at a "Catholic Church" where the priest had sadly lost his faith. He spoke of the many ways one can reach god --through Buddha, Hinduism etc., all the while lamenting the inability of the modern church to retain youth. As my husband stated he looked and spoke more like a wizard than a Catholic priest. I am convinced that this priest would rather see the Church go down in flames than acknowledge that the solution lies in a return to tradition, reverence and the latin mass.
Upon returning home we had some neighbors over who are deep into the SSPX. They asked us why we do not attend their church and instead attend the FSSP masses under the pope. No answer sufficed--they pointed out that the FSSP was forced to keep silent about the condition of the Church while the SSPX was free to criticize the Church. I asked them over and over, practically speaking, what would facilitate a return to the church? After much talk about the horrific condition of the church, and numerous quotations from apparitions and saints --they stated that it would take an eradication of modernism in the Church and a condemnation of Vatican II to return.
Despite these confusing times, I am so grateful to the Lord for His most comforting words that the gates of hell would not prevail against his Church. I will rest on the words of my Savior and cling to the rock which is the modern day ark.

The traditional view of marriage has been mocked, chided and rejected by so many it has transformed the very idea of marriage into nothing more than an antiquated and unfortunate monogamous commitment where it is incumbent upon each spouse to engage in fruitless sex i.e., mutual masturbation, for the sole purpose of igniting the insatiable and ever consuming passions of the flesh. But when sex becomes routine and loses its variety, the so-called marriage dies also.
According to the Catholic church, heterosexuals, who plan from the outset of their marriage to frustrate the procreation of children, are never validly married since they are denying an essential property of marriage. Homosexual sex, by nature, renders one incapable of procreation and thereby incapable of a valid marriage to a member of the same sex. Nevertheless, the State in the name of "human dignity" has permitted a sham, because "there can be no true promotion of man's dignity unless the essential order of human nature is respected". Persona Humana, CDF.
As a culture, we wonder why we are all fat when we engage in constant gluttony. We wonder why we are divorced and unhappy when we selfishly seek constant genital gratification while excluding God's natural designs. Finally, we wonder why homosexual "marriage" has snuck up on us when our sex lives have become fruitless-- just like homosexuality. Fruitless sex that excludes God's plan of creation for man is a roadmap for the acceptance of Read More...

"Few Catholics today know the story of Gabriel Garcia Moreno. This devout and holy man, blessed with a keen intellect and noble character, briefly reestablished the shining light of Christendom in a small corner of the New World during the nineteenth century. His contemporary, one Charles Darwin, had been at work in some islands in that same area of the globe, known as Ecuador, developing his false theory of species evolution that would become the philosophical bulwark of the godless societies of the future. In the meantime in the Old World, another contemporary, Blessed Pope Pius IX, was suffering through the forced seizure of the Papal territories, during the creation of a unified Italy.
"Garcia Moreno’s role in Catholic history is so significant that the Blessed Virgin Mary foretold his coming more than two centuries before his 1821 birth. During the Church-approved apparitions of Our Lady of Good Success, an unusually specific prophecy was given to a holy Conceptionist nun in Quito, Ecuador, on January 16, 1599. On that date, Our Lady revealed to Venerable Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres details of the life of a future president of the Republic of Ecuador – a country which did not even exist at the time. Our Lady of Good Success, whom the Archdiocese with the permission of Rome would crown Queen of Quito, spoke the following oracle:
“In the nineteenth century a truly Christian president will come, a man of character whom God our Lord will give the palm of martyrdom on the square adjoining this Convent of mine. He will consecrate the Republic to the Sacred...Read more

A recent letter from Rt Rev Richard Chartres to Rev Martin Dudley who married the Anglican homosexual priests, reveals the extent that error is tolerated in the Church of England: "There is of course a range of opinion on [homosexual practice] in the Church and, as you know, homophobia is not tolerated in the Diocese of London...The Archbishops have already issued a statement in which they say that “those clergy who disagree with the Church’s teaching are at liberty to seek to persuade others within the Church of the reasons why they believe, in the light of Scripture, tradition and reason that it should be changed."
The illogic of this position is beyond belief. It is a recipe for chaos and division which is the signature of Satan. But such a position is natural considering Martin Luther himself, paved the way for such error to take hold. What follows are excerpts of Luther's writing as compared to the Biblical Word of God.
Christ: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are fornication . . . murder . . . and suchlike. And concerning these I warn you, they who do such things will not attain the Kingdom of God" (Galatians 5:19-21).

For all that lament the de-christianization of the West and Islamization of Europe, Spengler of the Asia Times foresees a resurgence in Christianity that could threaten the predicted proliferation of islam throughout Europe.
Excerpts from Asia Times: "Benedict XVI may preach against violence, but in his own fashion he takes a tougher stance than the American president. That surely is not the way it looks at first glance. Bush invaded an Arab country, while Benedict preaches reason to the Muslim world, receiving in the past few months Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah as well as delegations from Iran. He has agreed to a meeting with a group of 138 Muslim scholars at the Vatican in November. Why should Muslims fear Benedict?
"For the first time, perhaps, since the time of Mohammed, large parts of the Islamic world are vulnerable to Christian efforts to convert them, for tens of millions of Muslims now dwell as minorities in predominantly Christian countries. The coming persecution of the Church will certainly stem in part from the radical homosexual movement. The way is being paved for the son of perdition through the growth of a new psuedo-christianity, or better yet, anti-christianity, which excludes the truths of Jesus Christ. It also diabolically twists the charitable and social aspects of Christianity rendering those who oppose the homosexual lifestyle as intolerant hate-mongers. The tenets of this anti-christian movement are simple: be nice, don't judge, and tolerate everything except the intolerant truth and those who espouse it. The arch-enemy of this movement is of course the Catholic Church which teaches that homosexual sex is a mortal sin. Unfortunately many so-called Christian denominations have fallen prey to this more palatable anti-Christianity. It is becoming easier to see what Christ meant when he said--"Will I find faith when I return?"

Why is it that so many Christian denominations have no problem with belief in the mystery of the Trinity yet fail in faith to accept the words of Jesus regarding the mystery of the Eucharist? It is by far the most challenging belief in Christianity and was so even in Christ's day.
As described in the gospel of St. John "many of His disciples left Jesus when He told the multitude that they would have to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood to have eternal life. Christ wanted to make sure that His own apostles believed in the Real Presence. That is why He asked them if they too, wanted to leave Him." But it was Peter who gave the correct answer. "He told Jesus that the apostles also did not comprehend this mystery, but they relied on Christ's words because they believed that Jesus is the living God who can neither deceive or be deceived." Fr John A. Hardon, S.J. Catechism on the Real Presence.
Christianity needs the authority of Christ's Church because as demonstrated in the last 500 years-- left to itself the human mind goes wild in it's interpretation of God's word. This is seen in the fact that "Martin Luther who had been a priest for fifteen years, broke with the Catholic Church on October 31, 1517. By the year 1600, there were over 200 Protestant interpretations of Christ's words, "this is my body ...this is my blood." ibid .
The wise words of the Saints prove the intense faith required to believe Jesus difficult words on the Eucharist:

The dissolution and rejection of absolute truth is precisely due to the disunity of Christianity and the creation of personal religion. Over the last 500+ years we have accepted the notion that everyone is free to create their own version of Christ, Christianity and ultimately their own truth. As a result we now as a culture, lack standing to condemn those who personally and sincerely believe they possess the fullness of truth but in reality lack Christ who is truth. To condemn personal religion and thereby false religion would amount to a condemnation of what the West itself has become.

Scotland has become more Roman Catholic than Protestant. Scotland's Roman Catholic congregations now outnumber the Church of Scotland for the first time since records began. This in a Nation that once hunted down priests for the crime of saying the Mass. Although it is certain that God will one day avenge the blood of the martyrs, it is nevertheless nice to see temporal justice.
From Scotland on Sunday: "Figures compiled by the independent group Christian Research reveal that in 2005 the number of Catholics who went to Mass surpassed those who attended Church of Scotland services."

Are people worse today than those who lived in previous generations?
It has always been my strong inclination to answer this in the affirmative --until I came across the following quote:
"If the West has now reached the point of internal disintegration, it is not because the people at large are, in essence, worse than in former times (human nature does not change); it is because they have been led to believe in errors (such as the belief that one has the right to do as one pleases) by a minority of "intellectuals who have been allowed to disseminate freely their pernicious ideas." Yves Dupont.
When you look around at the West today--so many sins that pervade our modern world can be attributed to our embrace of error. Today, the errors of materialism, hedonism, and secularism, just to mention a few, have multiplied at a staggering rate. Things that were unspeakable a generation ago have become a source of pride for many. From the Protestant Deformation which twisted and continues to alter truth for the convenience of man, to the modernism that has destroyed the faith of so many Catholics. The minds of many in the once Christian West have become severely afflicted with errors against God the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, and God's Grace.
The West is so steeped in error that it now finds truth itself to be intolerant and offensive. In fact most believe that tolerance, not truth, leads to freedom. But true liberty and freedom only derive from truth, which by its very nature is intolerant of error--and so must we also be.
How many souls are lost due to the prevalence of error?
Fr John Hardon, S. J. addressed this when he stated: 'virtually all of the Fathers of the Church agreed that ‘most of those living in any age will be lost’.
We must pray and offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God for the eradication of error and for holy priests who will fight with courage and vigor against the errors of our times.

When will liberals learn that when they attempt to adapt Christianity to the culture they will fail miserably, and always end up looking absurd to youth. It is precisely the counter-cultural message of Jesus that is attractive to young people who are immersed in a culture of hedonism and nihilism.

From FOCUS: In 2004 a prominent Muslim scholar, Bassam Tibi, predicted a future for Germany that many decried as provocative nonsense at the time:
"In ten years, Tibi said, Germany will be the scene of large running battles between police and gangs of marginalized Muslim youth, bringing cities like Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt to the brink of chaos. This will be the inevitable result, according to him, of a trend that is already visible. Muslims are not interested in integration. They are, in fact, obligated not to integrate by the radical Islamic ideology dominant in their communities, and live increasingly segregated in parallel societies. The main difference between 2004 and 2014, Tibi believed, would be that the highly marginalized Muslim population would have more than doubled to 10 million, sharia would have been gradually introduced in Germany and the Islam preached there would be even more radical and resemble Nazi totalitarianism."

Interestingly, Darwin himself was baptised an Anglican but was greatly influenced by his mother's Unitarianism. As he became immersed in his theory of evolution he lost his faith entirely.
"Expelled" masterfully outlines large scientific gaps in the theory of evolution, and documents multiple examples of the "scientific" community closing ranks behind any who dare hypothesize "intelligent design" as a possible theoretical course of inquiry. The film documents the scientific community's rabid fear of anything that could remotely remind one of Creationism, even when many intelligent design proponents have no religious designs or biases in examining the failure of Darwinism to scientifically explain elements such as the beginning of carbon-based life and random mutation.
Darwinism, like all errors, has and continues to bring about the destruction of Civilization. As Ben Stein's movie points out, the Nazis were big fans of Darwin and exterminated millions of "undesirables" in their eugenics program. There is no dispute even among Darwinists that abortion and euthanasia are more readily accepted by those who believe that man is a mere accident of nature rather than a creation of God.

From Dailymail: "The Rev Tony Tooby, chairman of governors at St Philips primary school, which was due to take part, said: "We wanted the route to include where some of the riots had taken place to educate our young people.
"The police and council just kept telling us that the reason for their objection was 'health and safety'. They proposed another route which was ridiculously short. The march would have been over before it began.
"Unfortunately, there's a fear that someone may have used it to cause violence.
Local Tory MP Philip Davies said: "This was a prime opportunity to promote integration in a celebration of being British. "The police and council, whether it's through political correctness or whatever, have failed miserably. It's frankly pathetic."
The Bradford riots occurred in 2001 just a few months prior to the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center --and prior to the Western world's realization that it was the target of Islamic jihad.
The riots were sparked by the stabbing of a local "Asian youth" by National Front supporters. They ended with more than 300 police injured and 297 people arrested. The riot was estimated to have involved Read More...

I believe this to be true despite the abysmal shape of American culture. Our world has shrunk due to the internet and globalization, and now faces problems and questions which are unprecedented historically, and often involve the very survival of civilization as we know it. The world needs a voice to counter the lies of the culture of death and the religion of death--Islam.
No single Protestant denomination --no matter how large, no matter how influential-- can match the voice and authority that the Pope possesses when he speaks. No Protestant denomination no matter how orthodox or conservative in their interpretation of scripture, can match the ability to identify and enunciate the Truth as that of the Catholic Church-- which has made it her business to seek and decipher God's truths for 2007 years. It is indeed the only voice remaining in the wilderness that possesses the full truth and delivers it in all of its unpopularity. This is of course no accident since the Catholic Church is the only Church that possesses Jesus Himself --in the Eucharist.

Yunis Al-Astal, a Muslim cleric, said in an April 11 broadcast on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV, "Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our Prophet Muhammad.
"Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam. This capital of theirs will be an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe.
"I believe that our children or our grandchildren will inherit our jihad (holy war) and our sacrifices, and Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them," he said. "Today, we instill these good tidings in their souls, and by means of the mosques and the Quran books, and the history of our prophets, his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire on the brink of which they stand."
A segment of the address was taped and translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI.
Churches all over Europe are falling into disrepair. The populace lacks the faith to make their restoration a priority which in turn renders the sacred monuments to God and Europe's cultural heritage nothing more than a financial albatross.

Years ago a sweet lady from my church offered me a very large and beautiful statue of St Clare of Assisi after I named my daughter Clare. I gladly accepted not knowing much about St Clare at the time except that she had bravely driven vicious soldiers from her convent while carrying Jesus in the Eucharist. It wasn't until I recently read Frank M. Rega's book St Francis and the Conversion of the Muslims that I realized that the Saracen soldiers that St Clare drove off-- were actually Muslims.
Clare was a beautiful Italian noblewoman who founded an order of nuns called the "Poor Clares." She was converted upon hearing St. Francis of Assisi preach. Thereafter, she developed a great desire to live a poor humble life for Jesus. She ran away from home, and in a little chapel outside Assisi, gave herself to God. St. Francis cut off her hair and gave her a rough brown habit to wear tied with a plain cord around her waist.
In the year 1240, St Clare saved her sisters and her convent from plundering hordes of Saracen mercenaries through the miracle of the Eucharist. As the Saracens were placing ladders Read More...
Here is Rosalind Moss, a Jewish convert to Catholicism, giving testimony of her conversion on the Journey Home. I have always loved the way she so succinctly ties the old testament and the practices of Judaism with Catholicism. So many fail to see the connection between the old testament and all of the seemingly "useless" and "man-made" traditions in the Church. Rosalind Moss along with other Jewish converts to Catholicism reminds us of this connection.
Rosalind, 65, has recently founded an order of sisters in the Archdiocese of St Louis called Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel's Hope. She is working on designing a floor length habit and intends to go to the streets with a team of joy-filled sisters and share the good news.
A reader of this blog has contacted me about his desire to become a priest with the Order of Basilian Salvatorian Fathers in Massachusetts - a semi-contemplative Melkite Byzantine order. The Melkite Rite is Catholic and under Pope Benedict XVI--it is one of the several Eastern Rites of the Catholic Church whose Divine Liturgy is Byzantine.
Unfortunately he has incurred $72,000 in school debt while attending the Franciscan University Of Steubenville over the last four years. This debt must be paid off before he can enter the Order. To further this purpose he has put together a website and has recorded an album of Catholic music.

Rome, 2 April (AKI) - Polygamous marriages are illegal in Italy yet are reportedly on the rise. While few Muslim immigrants or Italian converts to Islam admit such unions, Muslim scholars put the number nationwide at 15,000-20,000, La Repubblica daily reports.
"There is no doubt that the phenomenon exists, and that the number of polygamous unions growing as the number of Muslim immigrants to Italy increases," the paper said, adding that there are also cases of polygamous Italian converts to Islam.
No official statistics have been gathered on polygamous marriages in Italy, and estimates vary wildly from hundreds to tens of thousands, according to the paper.
The Catholic charity Caritas estimates there are just over 1.2 million Muslim immigrants in Italy, approximately one-third of a total of over 3.6 million immigrants.

Here are excerpts of a very interesting article on the changes that are taking place as a result of the return of the Tridentine latin mass. As indicated by Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos entire religious communities seem to be returning to the Church as a result of Summorum Pontificum.

During the interview, Cardinal Castrillon explained that the Pope’s letter, which renewed the possibility of celebrating the Mass according to the ancient rite, has led many Catholics to request to be received back into communion with the Church.

After a few minutes the driver calmly got up, opened the doors and asked everyone back on board.
But they saw a rucksack lying on the floor of the red single-decker and feared he might be a fanatic. So they all refused.
The passenger added: “One chap said, ‘I’m not getting on there now’.
“After seeing that no-one wanted to get on he drove off and we all waited until the next bus came about 20 minutes later. I was left totally stunned. It made me not want to get on a bus again.”
Yesterday the driver, who said his name was Hrun, told The Sun: “I asked everyone to get off because I needed to pray. I was running late and had not had time."
Islam is winning Western converts due to the nihilism and emptiness of our consumerist and hedonistic Western lifestyle. People who long to rebel against our pervasive and sick culture seek meaning and a radically new lifestyle that sets them apart. But rather than see devout Catholics who truly live their faith (and who are native to Europe)--they see Islam. Our apostasy has its consequences.

Rega has thoroughly researched Francis and stands on firm ground in his telling of the story of Francis and his attempt to convert the Sultan. The famous meeting begins when Francis accompanies the crusaders to Damietta, Egypt with the goal of having a private audience with Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil who was the Islamic ruler of Egypt.
Prior to the battle of Damietta, Francis received a prophetic vision that the crusaders would lose the battle. He hesitatingly revealed his vision which was dismissed. The battle went forward, and the crusaders lost.
The crusaders losses were many. As one chronicler wrote--John the Baptist gained many companions that day due to the great many beheadings. "This horror befell about fifty horsemen, of the Knights Templar, thirty of the Germans, and over twenty Hospitallers."
Remarkably it was the loss at Damietta that gave St Francis the opportunity to finally meet the Sultan face to face in an attempt to convert him to the Christian faith.
St Francis sought permission to enter the camp of the Sultan from the Papal Legate who was hesitant to grant permission since al Kamil had reportedly stated that "anyone who brought him the head of a Christian should be awarded with Byzantine gold pieces". Eventually when confronted with the insistence and persistence of St Francis, the Papal legate allowed Francis and one companion, Brother Illuminato, to go into the Muslim camp.

As previously reported here Magdi Allam was a non-practicing Muslim who has become a staunch opponent of the Islamization of Europe. He is an Egyptian born columnist and vice-director of Corriere della Sera, Italy’s leading daily newspaper. Allam's mother sent him to a Catholic boarding school in Egypt, where he began studying Western culture and civilization. He later immigated to Italy.

UN REPORT CALLS FOR DISESTABLISHMENT OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND DUE TO LACK OF BELIEVERS AND OFFENSE TO MUSLIMS
According to a recent study conducted by the U.N., two-thirds of British citizenry claim no religious affiliation. The 23-page report by a special rapporteur of the U.N. claims that the 2001 census which found that nearly 72 per cent of the population is Christian is no longer accurate.
Excerpts from TIMESONLINE: "The report calls for the disestablishment of the Church of England. It says that the role and privileges of the Church do not reflect “the religious demography of the country and the rising proportion of other Christian denominations”.
"The report says that there is an “overall respect for human rights and their value” but it gives warning of discrimination against Muslims.
"Citing research that 80 per cent of Muslims in Britain feel that they have been discriminated against, the report singles out the Terrorism Act 2000 for particular criticism. Under the Act police in some areas can stop and search people without having to show reasonable suspicion.
The report’s author also criticises terms in the Terrorism Act 2006 for being “overly broad and vaguely worded”.
Certainly, if a church is founded upon the notion that Christ's Church can be divided, then this same church therefore becomes subject to division, disestablishment and even elimination itself. The curse of the Reformation may well be the Islamization of Britain.
"And so the stage is set for the chastisement which the prophecies say will be very severe for England." Catholic Prophesy, Yves Dupont.
Since we are now in the midst of the 40-days of lent we may from time to time be tempted to succumb to sloth which can destroy one's spiritual opportunity to persevere toward a good and fruitful lent.
I recall a story about Fr. John Hardon, S.J. and his personal valet/bodyguard, Dan Burns, who travelled with him on numerous occasions. Mr. Burns once stated that "[Fr Hardon] took a vow in 1937 or so never to waste time, and I've never seen him waste time. The last motion picture he saw was in 1939."
According to Burns, just prior to the departure of a flight Fr Hardon went to confession. Upon his arrival at his destination he immediately stated to Burns that he needed to go to confession again. Burns mildly protested asking why it was necessary since he had just went to confession prior to the flight. Fr Hardon replied that he had wasted 15 minutes while on the plane.
This story among other things highlights the importance of avoiding sloth. Sloth is one of the seven deadly sins--which destroys charity in the heart and thus may lead to final impenitence and damnation. Sloth is the desire for ease and a reluctance to attend to duty. The slothful person is unwilling to do what God wants because of the effort it takes to do it. Thomas Aquinas said Sloth is "sluggishness of the mind which neglects to begin good... [it] is evil in its effect, if it so oppresses man as to draw him away entirely from good deeds."

"Perhaps Mr. Obama strikes the Europeans as the “most European candidate” because he was born a Muslim. If America can have a Muslim-born leader, why not Europe, many Europeans will ask. They know that the latter is “unavoidable” (to use the archbishop of Canterbury’s words). In America, Mr. Obama’s Muslim family background (unlike Mr. Romney’s Mormonism) is a non-issue because he attends a Christian church. Nevertheless, being born from a Muslim father, raised by a Muslim stepfather, having been enrolled at Read More...
From Simon Heffer at the Telegraph: "The archbishop seems to imagine that sharia law's adoption could be confined to matters such as financial transactions and divorce.
"But why should it stop there? Indeed, how could it?
"The Church of England has long dined à la carte from the menu of Christian doctrine. The Ten Commandments have become mostly optional. Homosexuality, divorce and abortion are demanded as rights by certain sections of the Anglican communion, and no prelate seems to dare to contradict them. The Church has brought itself into contempt by acting in this way. Now, though, perhaps Dr Williams imagines Muslims will dine à la carte from the Koran. He must be mad.
"A man in his position should defend our way of life and, above all, defend the unity of our society. That unity is already fragile: and this disgraceful act of appeasement, as well as showing the archbishop is unfit to occupy St Augustine's Throne, threatens to shatter it. If the Church of England has any point, it is to stand up for the prevalence of English and Christian values."
The Reformation did away with unity of peoples and certainly Christianity. Now we have non-believers clamoring for unity and Christian values but perpetually dividing Protestantism will only fail civilization.
An employment tribunal has ordered an Anglican bishop to undergo equal opportunities training after losing a discrimination case against a homosexual who sought a position as a youth worker.
The Bishop of Hereford, the Right Rev Anthony Priddis, is alleged to have discriminated against John Reaney, 42, by failing to appoint him as a church youth worker. The tribunal also ordered the Bishop to pay Reaney £47,345 in compensation and stated that the staff in the diocese of Hereford should also receive equal opportunities training.
Ben Summerskill, the chief executive of Stonewall, the radically pro-homosexual organization that funded the claim against the bishop, said that this would involve helping the Bishop to develop an understanding of how to deal with people from minority communities as well as explaining to him that asking intimate questions about people’s private lives is not an appropriate thing to do during a job interview.
Mr Summerskill also said: “Normally training would take half a day or a day but [the Bishop] might need Read More...
As a civilization we are reaping the fruit of the Reformation which was a rejection of authority and and an embrace of relativism and indifference to truth. Every man now lives by his own contrived truth--no one religion possesses truth, and there is no unified voice to stand for truth and against the tyranny of secularism and Islam. Instead there are ineffective and self-deprecating leaders like Rowan Williams who embrace, celebrate and are even willing to adopt the beliefs of those that seek the destruction of their very nation and church (and ironically would delight in beheading Williams and any homosexual clergy). When the Bride of Christ is divorced and the "life" which Christ promised to those who consume His flesh is absent-- then Sharia law is an inevitability. And the stench of weakness, capitulation and appeasement will only incite further demands from Islam in its pursuit of domination. (Thanks to Roger in New Zealand)
From the BBC: "The Archbishop of Canterbury says the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK "seems unavoidable".
"Dr Rowan Williams told Radio 4's World at One that the UK has to "face up to the fact" that some of its citizens do not relate to the British legal system.
"Dr Williams argues that adopting parts of Islamic Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion."
Social cohesion? Rather than seek social cohesion and transform our beliefs and civilization to Islam we should seek the conversion of Islam to Christianity. Read More...

"Worldwide, birth rate have been halved in the past 50 years. There are now 59 nations, with 44% of the world's population with below replacement fertility.
"Sometime in this century, the world's population will begin to decline. At a certain point the decline will become rapid. We may even reach population free-fall in our lifetimes.
"For some countries population decline is already a reality. Russia is losing three-quarters-of-a-million people a year. Its population (currently 145 million) is expected to fall by one-third by 2050."
"If present low birth rates persist, the European Union estimates there will be a continent-wide shortfall of 20 million workers by 2030.
"Who will operate the factories and farms in the Europe of the future? Who will develop the natural resources? Where will Russia find the soldiers to guard the frontiers of the largest nation on earth?
"Who will care for a graying population? A burgeoning elderly population combined with a shrinking work force will lead to a train wreck for state pension systems."
"While governments should make child-rearing easier, by lowering the tax-burden on families (out of self-interest if not fairness) cash incentives do not work."
"Even though bigamy is a crime in Britain, the decision by ministers means that polygamous marriages can now be recognised formally by the state, so long as the weddings took place in countries where the arrangement is legal.
"The outcome will chiefly benefit Muslim men with more than one wife, as is permitted under Islamic law. Ministers estimate that up to a thousand polygamous partnerships exist in Britain, although they admit there is no exact record.
"The decision has been condemned by the Tories, who accused the Government of offering preferential treatment to a particular group, and of setting a precedent that would lead to demands for further changes in British law."

"We ought to immolate to God the daily sacrifices of our tears, the daily offerings of His Flesh and Blood. For this Victim peculiarly preserves the soul from eternal death, as it renews to us in a mystery the death of the Only-Begotten; Who, although being risen from the dead He dies no more and death shall have no more dominion over Him, yet while in Himself He lives immortal and incorruptible, for us is immolated again in this mystery of the sacred oblation. For it is His body that is there taken, His flesh that it is divided for the salvation of the people, His blood that is poured, not as before into the hands of unbelievers, but into the mouths of the faithful. Hence let us estimate the importance of this sacrifice for us, which for our absolution ever imitates the Passion of the only-begotten Son. For what Christian can doubt that at the very hour of the offering, at the words of the priest, the heavens are opened, the choirs of angels are present in that mystery of Jesus Christ, the lowest things are knit with the highest, the earthly things are united with the heavenly, the visible and the invisible are made one." Wafa Sultan witnessed the worst of Islam and is now on a mission. All of Christianity should also be on a mission as well, to bring Jesus -the Son of God to those who live in darkness.
"The written law is said to be given for the correction of the natural law, either because it supplies what was wanting in the natural law; or because the natural law was perverted in the hearts of some men, as to certain matters so that they esteemed those things good which are naturally evil, which perversion stood in need of correction." St Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica (13th cent)
How times have changed--t he written law has now become the enabler and even the promoter of man's perversities.
Excerpt from the Telegraph: "Health authorities are considering paying up to £15,000 to surrogate mothers to help homosexual couples have children.
"North Essex Primary Care Trust has been asked to pay toward a surrogate mother. The PCT said it would also have to consider whether to pay toward surrogates for homosexual couples and single people.
"In a report to the PCT, Dr Rebecca Gibbs said: "The majority of applications for surrogacy to be funded on the NHS stem from heterosexual couples, but consideration would need to be taken for any homosexual couple or single person who wished to become a parent through surrogacy."
"The North Essex PCT said no firm decision had been taken on the issue."
Excerpts from GUARDIAN: "Martin Schiller has a problem familiar to many 17-year-old boys: not enough girls. Schiller's difficulties, however, are not of his making. Nature has not been kind to him. Not in terms of his looks, but his birthplace.
"For his home town of Königstein, a cluster of red-roofed traditional buildings tucked in a picturesque bend of the Elbe river beneath a giant 700-year-old castle, has recently been revealed to have the biggest demographic imbalance of anywhere in Europe between young men and women.
"On Saturday nights, there is a party at Königstein's youth club. 'We have to get the girls to come from Pirna,' says Schiller, referring to the nearest major town, 10 miles distant. Or even, he says, from Dresden, a 40-minute drive away across the rolling, wooded, depopulated Saxon countryside.
"The reason for the imbalance, he adds, is simple: 'The job opportunities Read More...
I suppose this comes as a surprise to those who are in denial of the evils of abortion but the world's leading expert on fetal pain at the University of Arkansas has concluded that babies in the womb can feel pain from an early stage of development. Such a finding may impact an upcoming vote regarding abortion in the U.K. which could ultimately tighten abortion laws and reduce the time limits to obtain an abortion.
From Telegraph.co.United Kingdom: "Prof Sunny Anand of the University of Arkansas will present his report into foetal pain to MPs discussing changes to abortion law on Monday night.
His research concludes that the part of a baby's brain that can feel pain develops before the legal abortion limit of 24 weeks.
It is the first time the abortion laws will have been reviewed in the Commons for nearly two decades.
Prof Stewart Campbell is also on the panel. He pioneered the use of 4D screening, which produces striking images of a baby in the womb.

Just a reminder of the infallible teaching of the Catholic Church at the Council of Florence in 1438:
"The Most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews, heretics, and schismatics can ever be partakers of eternal life, but that they are to go into the eternal fire 'which was prepared for the devil and his angels,' (Mat. 25:41) unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this Ecclesiastical Body, that only those remaining within this unity can profit from the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and that they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, alms deeds and other works of Christian piety and duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his alms giving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved unless they abide within the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church."
Maybe if we took seriously these words and stopped explaining away and undermining this infallible and unchangeable teaching we would not be in the current state of mass apostasy from the Faith throughout the West.

So many "Christians" have come to hold the view that it does not matter what one believes but rather that one is simply sincere and a "good person". But without a firm creed and an authority established by God Himself one is open to compromise with the world, the devil, and the flesh. Surely Christ will not abide with those who compromise and strip His word of all hard teachings--we must either accept or reject Him, we are either for or against Him. Compromise is incompatible with a firm faith that Christ is God, whose word is true and whose promises are as sure as God is sure.
Protestantism's rejection of authority has scattered souls by forcing them to fend for themselves to determine what the essential revealed truths of Christ are. Instead of confidently grasping hold of truth, Protestant Christians must agree to differ as to what truth God intended to reveal. Without the confidence that can only be found when authority is recognized, Protestants are inexorably driven to compromise due to the eternally endless divisions. How ironic it is that "bible believing" "sola scriptura" Christians are on the whole more unsure of truth and the requirements of salvation than prior to the Reformation. As a result Christians have never been so lax, and so lacking in faith.
Many Protestants have come to reject the ten commandments and even baptism as necessary Read More...
As Austria muzzles politicians who speak the truth about the growing Islamization of Europe, the recent statistics on the Austrian birth rate do not lie. With a birth rate of 1.3 births per woman in 2006, Austria was previously thought to be on the brink of the death spiral but officials are now reporting a continued decline in the birth rate for 2007.
There were 69,245 births in Austria during the first eleven months of 2007--which represents a 2.4 per cent drop from the prior year (or 1,674 fewer births).
Top that off with the fact that 38 percent of all births from December, 2006 through November, 2007 were to unwed mothers, up from 37.2 percent from the prior year.
By the way --Austrian politician Susanne Winter is now under guard due to a death threat against her by the "European Al Qaeda". It seems Islamization may be fine for the percentage of the populace who the State supports in a hedonistic, pill-popping, serial shack-up lifestyle--just don't talk about the price that will eventually be paid.
An Australian obstetrician and professor of medicine has called for a "baby levy" under which families that have more than two children would be fined $5,000 upon the birth of a third child and $800 annually in the form of a carbon tax.
Dr Barry NJ Walters, recently wrote in the Medical Journal of Australia: "[S]howering financial booty on new mothers" rewards "greenhouse-unfriendly behaviour" and that Australia deserved no more population concessions than India or China. Each child born should be offset by planting 4ha of trees".
In response Cardinal Pell stated: "I am not sure what is more extraordinary, that an obstetrician could hold such a view or that a leading medical journal could publish such a view, but either way, this is a striking illustration of where a minority neo-pagan, anti-human mentality, wants to take us...If we have learned anything from the atrocities of the last century, it is that wide-scale attacks upon human life and dignity stem from reductive understandings of the human person."
Australian Family Association spokeswoman Angela Conway also condemned Walters saying babies don't cause global warming. "I think self-important professors with silly ideas should have to pay carbon tax for all the hot air they create. There's masses of evidence to say that child-rich families have much lower resource consumption per head than other styles of households."
Jan. 15 (Bloomberg) -- France became the first non- Scandinavian country in western Europe to record a majority of out-of-wedlock births.
Of the 816,500 births registered in France last year, 50.5 percent were to unmarried parents, up from 48.4 percent in 2006 and 40 percent 10 years ago, according to a report today by Insee, the Paris-based national statistics agency.

Susanne Winter, a right-wing politician with the FPÖ party, stated that "in today's system" the Prophet Muhammad would be considered a "child molester". Winter who is running for a city council seat in the city of Graz, was apparently referring to Mohammed's marriage to a six-year-old child.
Winter stated that it is time for Islam to be "thrown back where it came from, behind the Mediterranean." She also stated, as have many others before her that Muhammad wrote the Koran in "epileptic fits."
EXCERPTS FROM SPIEGEL: "In an interview with the daily Österreich published on Monday, Winter continued the onslaught saying that child abuse is "widespread" among Muslim men and that Graz is facing a "tsunami of Muslim immigration." In 20 or 30 years, she warned, half of Austria's population would be Muslim.
